tikijoetots37 Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Hi, I'm creating a mission with 100's of units, mostly infantry that are assaulting a treeline. Probably have about 300-400 infantry on each side. The issue I'm having is the battle is over within a few minutes with both sides being pretty much wiped out extremely fast. I have everyone set on average most of one side is in a tree line but that seems to not make a difference. Is there anyway to make them less accurate to extend the time it takes for them to slaughter each other?
Hiob Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Without some heavy scripting magic (which I am incapable of), I don't see a solution. The problem of anti-stormtrooper aim with ground units is infamous in DCS. Only possible work around I can think of is limiting their ammo and delay the re-supply. Or perhaps find some armored units with low fire power (troop transports or so) 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
sirrah Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 (edited) As an alternative, if your goal is to just see a lot of tracers for a few minutes, you could consider making (part of) them immortal. You could simply end the immortality after a few minutes and they'll start killing each other again. Would be handy, if you could make them immortal between each other, but not from the players attacks..... but that's probably back to scripting magic I assume 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
Cyking Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 You can also do a combination of invisible and fire at point. Then the Player can still destroy them. 2 DISCORD - YOUTUBE - INSTAGRAM
tikijoetots37 Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 Awesome suggestions, I'll def try some of these out. Thanks a ton!

The player can still kill immortal units. I'm not sure how door gunners on a player controlled helicopter are treated though.

Although I haven't tested, I would be highly surprised if this is true. Can anyone confirm this?
