How to keep Ground Units from killing eachoter so fast.

Hi, I'm creating a mission with 100's of units, mostly infantry that are assaulting a treeline. Probably have about 300-400 infantry on each side. The issue I'm having is the battle is over within a few minutes with both sides being pretty much wiped out extremely fast. I have everyone set on average most of one side is in a tree line but that seems to not make a difference. Is there anyway to make them less accurate to extend the time it takes for them to slaughter each other?

Without some heavy scripting magic (which I am incapable of), I don't see a solution. The problem of anti-stormtrooper aim with ground units is infamous in DCS.

Only possible work around I can think of is limiting their ammo and delay the re-supply.

Or perhaps find some armored units with low fire power (troop transports or so)

As an alternative, if your goal is to just see a lot of tracers for a few minutes, you could consider making (part of) them immortal.

You could simply end the immortality after a few minutes and they'll start killing each other again.

When you can set a timer for immortality, that is actually a brilliant idea.....

Would be handy, if you could make them immortal between each other, but not from the players attacks..... but that's probably back to scripting magic I assume

AFAIK the "immortal" setting only applies to AI vs AI. The player can still kill immortal units. I'm not sure how door gunners on a player controlled helicopter are treated though.

Although I haven't tested, I would be highly surprised if this is true. Can anyone confirm this?
