Phantom711 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 As of yesterdays update, you will have to activate QuadViews (and Eye-Tracking if your headset supports it) in the DCS VR options. If you“ve done that, QuadViews should already work for you. If you want to do some custom tweaking to how QuadViews behaves, you can manipulate the respective settings file or use a tool called "QuadViewsCompanion" which is a bit more convinient.  vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. NAM Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Goto DCS Option - VR If quadview is enable then you can see quadview check box in the bottom left. If you dont see it, then it is not enable

PLUTON Posted October 2, 2024 Author Posted October 2, 2024 if I do not activate QV in DCS my FPS varies between 55 on the ground and 65/67 at 2000 feet, If I activate QV in DCS my FPS varies between 38 on the ground and 45 at 2000/3000 feet and the image flickers and everything that is written on the screen is also flickered, what exactly is happening? PLUTON Posted October 2, 2024 Author Posted October 2, 2024 Yesterday I made a mistake in indicating an increase in fps, it's the opposite I have a decrease in fps with QV checked activate a thousand apologies
Qcumber Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 If you have not already done so then I suggest reading this thread on how to use QVFR and mbucchia's guide notes. https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated The recent changes in DCS just lets you toggle the QVFR openxr layer on or off in DCS and likewise the headset eye tracking (if available).Ā 1 PC specs: 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64GB RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - (for posts before March 2025: 5800x3d - rtx 4070) - VR headsets Quest Pro (Jan 2024-present; Pico 4 March 2023 - March 2024; Rift s June 2020- present). Phantom711 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 @PLUTON As far as I know, QVFR puts some more stress on the CPU and yours might simply not be powerful enough for you to benefit from QVFR. Ā vCVW-17Ā is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join theĀ vCVW-17 Discord.
PLUTON Posted October 2, 2024 Author Posted October 2, 2024 Thanks for the quick answers, it doesn't matter it already works well like that, I just finished some tests and my fps on the incirclick base is between 56/60 FPS? It's fluid and that's the main thing. Thanks for the information Have a good flight everyone 1
Brainfreeze Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 QV/foveated rendering is suppose to lighten the load by reducing the number of total pixels that need to be rendered.... the goal is to get more FPS ... totally bonkers that it would result in an FPS drop as there would be no use to it at all... i9 14900K / 64GB / RTX 4090 / Varjo Aero / Winwing Orion2 + F15EX / Virpil WrbrdĀ + Alpha Stick + ACE pedals

It will shift some of the processing to the CPU so if you have enough CPU overhead QVFR will increase performance. If you are CPU limited it can make performance worse. In such a case the foveated rendering in OXRTK will be a better option. My post above links to mbucchia's guide for QVFR which is worth a read.Ā Edited October 3, 2024 by Qcumber 1 PC specs: 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64GB RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - (for posts before March 2025: 5800x3d - rtx 4070) - VR headsets Quest Pro (Jan 2024-present; Pico 4 March 2023 - March 2024; Rift s June 2020- present). Brainfreeze Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 (edited) Indeed. Ā The Mbucchia DFR worked a treat and increased fps a good 20%+ I tried using DCS Quad view + Eye tracking ... result was dreadful with low fps and the details in the foveated part totally different from the rest so that trees and other objects were disappearing when i looked at them and reappearing when i looked away... Eventually turned eye tracking off and instead used the Varjo regedit tweak to force foveated rendering:Ā https://varjo.com/vr-lab/make-the-best-out-of-your-varjo-experience-update-on-varjo-quad-view-eye-tracked-foveation-and-varjo-base-settings/ Ā Edited October 3, 2024 by Brainfreeze i9 14900K / 64GB / RTX 4090 / Varjo Aero / Winwing Orion2 + F15EX / Virpil WrbrdĀ + Alpha Stick + ACE pedals
