-Bob- Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 You are not able to move the ramp if the gunner is sitting on the ramp. The ramp remains in the ground position and can't be moved in the middle position.
ED Team Lord Vader Posted October 3, 2024 ED Team Posted October 3, 2024 The fact that you cannot move the ramp is intended. However the position of the ramp will be reviewed in a future update to make it more realistic and practical for the gunner. 3 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
TokenJester Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Based on the Chinooks I've seen, and all the photos and video, when a rear gunner is operating on a CH-47, the ramp is normally around the "horizontal" position as opposed to the "down but without the tongues" that is current in DCS..This ramp down position also makes landing difficult without ramp striking, which is not the normal case in actual 'Hook operations. So I have 2 questions: 1: why is the ED implementation in the "ramp down/no tongues" position ? and, 2: Can we have something more accurate? TJ.
Tholozor Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Ramp position for the rear gunner is planned to be adjusted at some point: REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
Pribs86 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Another thing to note is when the A/C is flying in the air, without a ramp gunner (in DCS), you can put the smaller ramps/boards down (I don't know what they're called) if you go to the final ramp "down" stage. These flip out to allow for smoother loading of equipment on the ground, but they wouldn't be used in the air. Ever. Just the ramp itself. But in DCS you can flip them all the way down, even in flight. Edited 18 hours ago by Pribs86
