Petercove Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Hi, I would like to think I have a pretty good system. DCS World 2.9 installed on a built in SSD. Running the bin-mt DSC.exe. i7-14700KF 3.40 Ghz 64 GB RAM 4080S GPU HTC Vive Pro 2 Yet when I run DCS my SteamVR Status shows as per the attached jpg or worse with it being purple right across. The game slows down and even goes blank. Just what you dont want when in the groove to land on the Supercarrier. I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. Most of my DCS settings are middle of the road. Can anyone help me please? Its doing my head in.
Sr. Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 My first guess is you have your VR PD slider past 1.0 and/or your Steam VR res set too high. You might also try running in at 60Hz instead of 90... if you're among the lucky few who won't notice any strobing or can simply tolerate it. Post screen shots of your settings from both. Petercove Posted October 4, 2024 Author Posted October 4, 2024 Hi, And thanks for taking a look. I dont think I can see a way to change the 90Hz setting. Here are some shots of my settings. Yes the PD was set at 1.0 so that should be fine. Cheers Peter
Sr. Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Been a while since I've had a Vive HMD but, I believe it's done via the Vive console app. Ryzen 7 5800X3D | 64GB DDR4 3600| MSI RTX 4080 16GB Ventus 3X OC | Samsung 970 Evo 2TB NVME | Quest 3 | Logitech X-56 throttle | VKB NXT Premium | Win 11 "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." --Arthur C Clark
Petercove Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 Thanks. Just out of interest what HMD did you go for and what was the main difference between your new one and the Vive?

The difference in clarity and resolution was night and day. Better audio, way better mic. G2 didn't require the expensive lighthouse tracking.
