Hello,

I was attempting to taxi in the F-4 on Grayflag Marianas just now, and the NWS, brakes, speed brake stopped responding to my HOTAS inputs. The systems worked briefly then the controls, switches were making noises and moving in the cockpit, but they were not performing their functions. I used the automatic start command. I'm unsure if this is a bug or if I did something unexpected. I've not had this issue before, will attach the log. I'm on the most recent update. Thank you for your help. In the meantime ill run a repair.

Does this happen with other aircraft too, or just the F-4? Perhaps it’s hardware-related, such as a USB cable that’s not seated properly?

I take it you double-checked your bindings?

Yes, that's what I find odd. I should have been more specific. I could use the throttles, but not the other functions. However, In the cockpit, I can hear the click of the NWS button, and could see the brakes moving, but I could not steer or stop. I only came to a stop by rolling in the grass. The speed brakes would not deploy. I've not had any issues with other aircraft. Very strange. I'm going to see if a repair fixed it.

I remember a similar report from some time ago and when the user send a track and we checked it revealed that the user didnt hold the button down but instead pressed it multiple times.

Probably not intentional but rather hardware issue or sth.

This is certainly possible. I don't have pedals so taxiing is a juggling act for me and the NWS button gets repeated presses. Is this a purely hardware issue or is there a correlation with the simulated electro/hydualic systems in the module? Thank you for your help. Also, ran a repair and now is working normally.

I have pedals with no toe brakes, so I mapped toe brakes to my hotas. For me, the L/R brakes don't seem to have any effect in steering the aircraft when taxiing (the pedal braking animation is there) unlike in the A-4E mod but NWS works fine, so I don't use the L/R brakes.

I just bought the Phantom today and am having the exact same issues. NWS does not work, even when held down on HOTAS or keyboard. Brakes do not work when pressing with my toes on the rudder peddles or keyboard. Airbrakes do not respond at all. Has there been a work around that someone found?

Could you send a track file? So far each time someone reported sth similar it turned out to be an issue with the users binds. So I suspect something similar here. A track would reveal it immediately 🙂

How do I do that?

After you are done with your flight, in the debriefing window there is a button labelled "Save Replay/Track" or similar.

You can then also replay the track from the DCS main menu to see whether it correctly shows the issue.

If so, send it to us and we can check it on our side :)

Gotcha. I did a fast repair and am about to fire it up. I'll post the track if i'm still having this issue. Thanks.
