Guys

I was originally using a Saitek Cyborg 3d and lately, (last 2-3 yrs), a Saitek Evo Force as they have been the ONLY left handed friendly flight sticks. I can’t believe that this is still the situation in 2009. The Evo has loads of issues with BS, (crappy FFB, imprecise trimming, floppy movement with spring disabled as you have to do, large inconsistent deadzones, driver that won’t remember settings), and it's getting right on my t*ts:joystick:. Having recently upgraded to a Track IR I find that my joystick is letting the side down. Short of cutting my arms off and stitching them on the other way round, do I have any options?

Never heared of a left handed HOTAS, can't help, sorry.:dunno:

I don't think a left handed HOTAS exist on really airplanes either, except some airliner that use stick instead of yokes (in this case the captain's "HOTAS" would be left handed). I think you're out of luck on this, there aren't even many left handed mouse, let alone HOTAS.

Maybe you should just practice you right hand more.

Hi Coolts.

I'm left handed myself (although with ambidextreous tendencies) and I'm a private and glider pilot.

Most gliders have center sticks and everybody flies with their right hand. Most General Aviation aircraft have yokes that are flown typically with the left hand. Instructors in these same aircraft have to learn to fly with the right hand, since they sit to the right and so having the throttle/prop/mixture levers to their left.

Professional pilots in new-generation side-stick aircraft, fly both left and right depending on their post on that flight.

Accept it, and start creating new pathes for your synapses in your brain.

Good luck.

Has anyone bought one of 'snomhf's custom CH stick and throttle for left handers' that Crunch and I found reference to?

Cheers Jack, but its a little late to try and learn the other way round, (RH), as I’ve been playing games left handed since before the Atari VCS days.

Playing games, yes... What if you wanted to fly a real helicopter? Would you ask for a left-handed one? I'm not trying to be annoying, but rather encourage you to try something new.

Anecdote: My cousin, a left-handed golf player, walked out of a golf lesson with the pro's advice of CHANGING HIS CLUBS to RIGHT-HANDED! He did and never looked back...
