Where exactly is it located on the left wall? I can't see it even moving my head to get the lowest possible view (and moved the seat all the way down, using TrackIR). The manual isn't much help because it just shows what the lever looks like and not the surrounding area.

I've searched for this but came up empty.

I haven't had to use it until now because I've air started or started hot on the runway every time. Weird that I can't find it even by slowly moving my mouse over the wall sections that I can't actually see.

I found it by going to the takeoff training mission and it is high on the left wall hidden behind some stuffs. So I mapped it to my throttle.

That said, I couldn/t get past step 3 of that mission where it wants you to line up on the runway and then check your ADI and HSI compasses and set the right course. Dunno what I'm doing wrong there so I took off anyway and then found out I can't adjust trim until I fix the issue with step 3. lol

Would’ve been funnier if it was on the right sidewall after all 😄.

Typical DCS, you solve one puzzle and come up against another one. The joys of learning new modules 🙂.

F4’s a great one.

Pretty sure it's on the right wall.

Well, that was wrong! 🤣
Had to check. Opened Control Settings and pressed LCtrl+C. Pretty much the default for the canopy in jets. Spot on, left wall. Then I did it again while looking at the left wall. I've only done he cold start training once, and I do now remember I couldn't find it.
Well, back in the cockpit, pressed LCtrl+C, and watched. Got some screen grabs for future reference. 😉

Good approach for solving a problem! 🙂
May I ask which issue you had with step 3 (which are the STAB AUGs)?

I had no issues with the STAB Augs, that's easy peasy. I had some sort of issue with setting the ADI and HSI correctly. I haven't tried again yet but will later today and I'll post an update then.

It's Task 3, Step 3. The instructor wants me to set the HSI heading and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't make it past this step.

It won't let me attach the .trk because it's larger than 50 MB.

.trk file has arrived in zip form.

Zipped track file for upload.

I figured it out. I was setting the HSI course upside down, meaning the arrow on the indicator was at the bottom instead of at the top of the HSI. I was also so intent on watching the movement on the HSI that I didn't notice the numbers changing right next to the adjustment knob.

What a n00b.  🤣
