Ok,

I've uploaded a TRK file. It's recorded in the same location that I had the problem with left turn before. Its shows a couple of left and right turns, before the blades meet in a nose up manueuvre....

Main issue - your ascent speed is too fast.......slow down.

Herewith my track flown after I took control of the Helo at your Max IAS Warning. Have a look and see how it compares.... You have to look after her on top of those peaks....I think I had the Helo up to 13000+ before descent.

And yeah - excuse the dismal attempt at a Belly-Slide down the mountain - happens when your daughter tugs your arm at 5m AGL

:D

On the note of barrel rolls, btw:

Get 220-240km/h airspeed (NOT groundspeed, ignore HUD). Gently pull back to gain 30 degrees nose-up attitude, at this point apply gentle left cyclic until you have roughly 45 degree bank. Now apply full left cyclic, pull gently back, and give it a gentle left rudder to help keep it clean.

Maintain until the barrel roll is complete.

A note: if you gain more airspeed than that, you are liable to get rotor clash when inverted unles you are really good. If you get less airspeed than that, getting inverted will cause you to fall out of the sky - inverted. That is not the time where you can rescue yourself with the ejection seat. ;)

Just a note from

with breaking rotorblades :P

I don't agree with preventing hard right turns and right barrels.

It is important to know that the chance of rotor collision is bigger with right turns but it is much more important to coöperate cyclic and collective inputs.

You can (even with 100% fuel and some payload) give full right cyclic at high speed instantly, once your collective is down.

Just my two cents :joystick:

Yeah, I should actually have added a note about dumping collective when giving the full cyclic. I blame alcohol. (Ask Panzertard for how well I fly when drunk. :D )

But yes, I acknowledge that the cyclic vs collective handling is more important than the direction of turn - and your expertise far outstrips my own. Basically though, I did find it easier to learn the left-hand side without causing violent death. But aside from that, your correction is well taken and entirely correct.

It is great fun to fly drunk (you simply don't give a damn). :D

For some reason, I prefer rolling right....but I learned it the hard way....my crash counter is pretty much equal to the number of flights. :smilewink:

Funniest was a long sojourn of trying to triangulate, in twilight, where a triple-A battery that had threadened panzer was. After a while Panzer tells me that he is fairly sure it's directly below me with the words "I don't know why it hasn't killed you yet, but..." :D

I tried to get eyeball, got under fire, panicked, and died.

I then reflew the route and finished the evening by conducting intercourse with a hillside while under fire again. :D That's how to do it. ;)

Times like these that crop up every now and again in Multiplayer/Squad flights that make it all worthwhile and the Main reason that I am an exclusive Multiplayer Simmer.......Cannot beat the realtime interaction between individuals, be it the Fear-Induced Adrenalin rush leading to Calamitous Debauchery in a Raging Fireball or a Hastily beaten Retreat clouded in Expletives.........Good Times!

Reminds me of a Squad Op where we were ingressing up a Valley.......Two-Ship visual approx 2 klicks off my twelve when 'BOOM' - Point Man gets Vaporized.......WTF!........sec's later Wingie gets scattered prematurely across the Trout-stream 50m below.........WTF!!........Clearly not phased by the apparent abruptness of my squaddies passing, I venture forth to inspect the remains, only to be greeted by the Main Gun of a MBT cresting the Hidden rise a coupla hundred metres off my 9.....BOOM!!! - 120mm love hurts..........

All this was - and quite rightly so - too much for another squaddie to take, who then prudently turned tail and ran down the valley, hotly pursued no doubt by 120mm darts, valiantly shouting over comms...."Come and get it if you think you're Hard Enough" at the now-receding MBT on his six......Priceless :megalol:
