Hi all,

i hope i didnt overlook but i cant find anything about weather reports in Blackshark. Is there any way to get weather information besides the little info you get when ask clearance from tower? i.e. Is there an ATIS channel available?

Thanks,

Check mission editor briefing - Weather.

No pilot would fly without checking the briefing, waypoints, terrain he will be flying over, significant items he/she will see, hills, rivers, towns/villages etc.

Jim is right - read your briefing ! (And you don't have to worry that it has changed in BlackShark while you fly - up to now )

But ATIS would be a nice addition for fastmovers.

As a Helicopter pilot you don't have to listen to the ATIS - you get the data almost instance - because you are "in the weather",

But when you dive from above the clouds to your airfield -it would be a good info . Things can change dramatically after you read the briefing and have flown the mission - especially when talking about the weather.

Let's see what next DCS modules will have onboard.;)

I could see a need for weather reports in the A-10C module since you're going longer distances, where the weather over your target could be vastly different than your home field's weather.

But in DCS:BS? Nah! The tower gives you the wind, which is the most important thing. Everything else - cloud coverage, rain, ceilings - can be divided into two handy, easy-to-use terms:

1) Shi*ty

2) Not shi*ty

No, but that's an outstanding idea for the Wish List.

I already did that, several months ago...

Wow, thx for the answers guys.

Jim & others, believe me, i do read missiondata. I do understand now that the given weather is not undergoing any change during flight, even when i keep flying for hours (what i like to do ).

As a real life helicopter crew member we always want to know/have weather information. We want make decisions ourselfs based on that even when Ops makes decisions. Also true that IRL as pilot you are in midlle of the weather, but irl its clear to see and feel the weather, different then in a flight simulator.

It would be nice to have such information, specially in free flight, when no information is given, such as mission & weather data.

I know i can also 'read' the little wind blades at the nose of the blackshark, they move with the wind.

but anyway thank you all for your support. It is nice to konw there are so many fellow shark fans wich are very helpfull :)

I will put my question also in the wish list, ty.

Friendly greetings all..
