I started to build a race course with pylons using Black Shark. There are no pylons, at least that I am aware of in the Static Objects. I am using other objects. But, the main part is using trigger points. There are triggers for staying in zones, leaving zones, and whether or not they say at a certain altitude.

But it appears there are not enough triggers to do everything I would need. Also, if you fly too high, the triggers will not trip. not real sure yet, as this race course build testing is in the very early testing and building stages. I do have help in setting triggers from another pilot who is very good at the logic used.

Just wondered if anyone else is attemting this? Right now it just has 5 trigger points, pylons, and have set triggers for each pylon and a main trigger for the whole zone the course is in. It's a small course. I have also explored doing this over both land and water. It just seems like sooner or later, there will be some pilots racing, with racing skins too .

Simple - set up 4 Shilka's as units, pretending to be Pylons. Contenders must stay outside their range to get around the pylon.

As for the finishing line - spawn a line of 12 Strelas or something - first one to reach the line wins! :D

Have you tried using one LARGE trigger zone strictly for altitude and others zones for lateral triggers? Maybe the trigger logic currently doesn't like multiple functions for one trigger.

let's nip this in the bud,, I was only sharing buidling a racing course, I am not having any big problems...

just saying it's not easy, as I am trying something I never tried buidling in Black Shark, and am finding out what works and how it works.. I never said it doesn't work..

Got it. You don't need help. You never asked for help. You don't want help. Now, isn't racing helicopters a little like racing shopping carts?

Sorry ericinexile, on the net it didn't come accross right,,,

I was just meant that of course I am trying the things you suggest. It just seems like some people think that I have not tried the obvious. I am not just putting objects for people to look for and fly around and get back to the finishing line. There are checkpoints that will report back in real time where each pilot is, their position, alititude, and whether or not they went out of bounds and skipped a checkpoint, by accident or on purpose.

thanx... looks interesting..

well, I tried to load it in my editor to look at it, it will not open.. so maybe Russian missions do not work in English installs..

Here is a Beta of one of the race courses I am working on.

It is multiplayer.

feel free to tweak it, as it is right now, it is setup to test some settings...

:smilewink:

it has logic in it, and it will report if you go out of bounds, or too high, etc...
