Tacom Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) First thing, congratulations. A very good learning experience. If I must suggest something, I would say that some more details are required in the documentation. Several times I was not sure what was required or how to proceed, so I had to check YT videos or fly the mission to grasp the details of the mission. On the other side I had problems with several missions: ATC nearly never worked. Usually I don't get any response from them after the request to taxy. Aerobatics was really difficult for me, and failed the exam in the Immelmann because I broke the altitude restriction, but I was given a Q- with a score of 70. I really feel like I failed that exam. The emergency test was impossible to finish. As reported by others, as soon as I change to manual reversion the plane is unflyable. The ILS landing was also impossible. I never get a ILS signal and the runway has its lights off. Could this be because the ATC doesn't answer? Now to the Advanced Aircraft training Thx Edited November 20, 2024 by Tacom 1
Sabre-TLA Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately some of the issues our out of our control (like the ATC, and ILS issues). ED says they are working on the ATC system so hopefully that will improve over time. From a documentation perspective we have provided flight route and maneuver diagrams to try and explain what is required. What more can we add to make it clearer? For the manual reversion test you need to start the maneuver at a slow speed (above stall) and level flight. Then make very slow inputs to change the flight direction. This is because you are using the trim elements to fly in that condition. It takes alot of practice to get good at it. It is the most difficult situation to master in our opinion. Please continue to report any problems or issues and if we can fix them we will. Thanks. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates

I just tried the refueling missions, and without a working ATC, they also don't work. By the way, I failed the AAR missions and also was shot down in the third one, but it was considered a success with 60 points. In the night refueling I did not even need to take off. It was considered a success when I exited just after taxying a few meters. A good start would be something similar to the explanations the IP gives when flying. Probably not so detailed, but enough to know what is expected from you, not just the parameters for qualification. Thx.
Tacom Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 Also, the ATC works in the practice missions and at the start of the qualification missions. It just stop working after the first contact. Thx.

I never seem to get it right. The Immelmann turn, I find it a little easier if I descend a little to pick up a bit of speed before attempting the climb. I don’t get any criticism from the PI there. 2
