skypickle Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 With the recent update, starting DCS results in a splash screen with some icons along the left side and a 'launch dcs' button in the bottom right. At the top right is the account info. Today all I see at the top right is a little radar sweep. Trying to launch DCS gives a warning dialog "login in progress. Please wait or press Continue to launch DCS with free modules only". In the past, I could launch offline mode with all my modules. Is this the new normal? 4930K @ 4.5, 32g ram, TitanPascal

The offline license saved is valid for 3 days since last successful login. Unless you entered offline mode before - then no time limit. skypickle Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Well, I tried logging in today after being online yesterday. The login screen took forever. I tried to continue and it said 'free modules only'. I waited and tried again. Again the launch dialog (the one with the dcs videos and the launch button) kept trying to login- after 5 min I then got to the the little dialog with the progress bar we used to have. It went on for minutes but then said I could login offline. I guess the two step login has different behavior at each step. 1 4930K @ 4.5, 32g ram, TitanPascal
Captain Chuck Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 (edited) DCS launcher won't log me in tonight. 404 on this website too. Well, sometimes it can log in. At the moment it did log in and the site is back up.. Can't say what will happen later though. Edited November 28, 2024 by Captain Chuck 1 Ryzen 7 7800; GTX 4070; 32 GB RAM; Monitor 27" 1440p
draconus Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 (edited) I logged in yesterday successfully so I deliberately turned off WiFi today, started DCS and got message: The web site is not available at the moment. However, you have saved authentication to continue working offline. then it informed me that authorisation is valid for 2d 2h... and MP will not be available. So it works but I don't use the launcher and don't know if it has anything to do with your problems. Dangerzone Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 If it's not working in the sdame way draconus' is - try disconnecting from the internet and launching instead with no internet connection and see if that makes any difference. I'm not sure if it will, but if I recall correctly, a while ago I I had a similar issue (purchased modules weren't available) and launching with no internet connection gave me the 2 days and 23hr window message instead. I'm not sure though if that was because the activation servers were available, or if it's when they went through that period where they lost all the accounts data on their activation server, so it may be a different situation, but still worth a try.

It does this randomly to me though I am connected to internet. It's been doing it for maybe months or a year. I usually try again and it works. This time it didn't work for 45 minutes and when I went to DCS forums to ask about it the website gave me a 403 error. I thought maybe something happened to ED. An hour later everything was working as normal. Ryzen 7 7800; GTX 4070; 32 GB RAM; Monitor 27" 1440p
