Allochtoon Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 :] For best results put the reflectors on your hat.
Pilgrim Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 Didn't get the hat. I have used dots on my headphones and one between my eyes on my glasses :) Does anyone have good values for the curve? ASUS P4T533-C|P4 3.06@3.45|1024Mb Kingston 1066 rambus|ATI 9.... *EDITED* - Listen to Mods!!!
Nasder Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I just took a cap I had at home and glued a reflective dot on that. Yes, I glued it in place! now it ain't falling off! *Muhahahaaaa* /Nasder, "I came, I saw, I got shot down."
bflagg Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Allochtoon, is just expressing the need for road side safety and to put a reflective hat on while Pilgrim is going to the Postal box ... Don't wan't the man to get run over now before he can aleast try out the TrackIR now do we? Thanks, Brett
Allochtoon Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 You had me at 'road side safety'. :] A normal cap is sufficient to say the least. But real virtual pilots wear replica's or the real helmets, and sit in their handbuilt cocpits, with a stick between their legs that will make the real one cry.
Pilgrim Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 Ok. Verdict time. I have been flying for a couple of hours and I'm getting the hang of it. I think I will need to go with the hat solution since I need more points for the tracker to follow. I sometimes get some weird movements and I suspect it could be the lack of reference points. I have 4 now. Great fun though ;) ASUS P4T533-C|P4 3.06@3.45|1024Mb Kingston 1066 rambus|ATI 9.... *EDITED* - Listen to Mods!!!
bflagg Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 There is also reference to how much light to deal with...(edit the profile for combat flight..). I was getting some jumping and the cause was the light above and behind me at my wife's desk. mine similar to this: ...o ...o oo0oo ...o ...o The vertical is closer to each other than reflected above (ignore the ".") Thanks, Brett
BBushe Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 unless you have the vector expansion you should only use one spot -spot, not dot, the spot could be a larger one made out of several dots. Mind you, I've never found the need for more than one dot. but other light sources are your enemy, be they lights or strong reflections. TIR3pro is much better than previous version for this someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think for the vector expansion to work you need the dots spaced at the correct distance, as per the metal frame. I think you need a license for it too.

Mind you, I've never found the need for more than one dot. This is setup specific. Mine is basically one big circle with points sticking out at N,W,S, E. (8dots total) but other light sources are your enemy, be they lights or strong reflections.
