Mission 3: Refueling with the tanker

First off, what a breath of fresh air and I love this campaign.  EXCELLENT JOB.  As a former F-16 avionics guy...I love it.

I have played the third mission several times and every time I use the comm menu in game to talk to Texaco; I will not get a response from him.  This obviously makes it impossible to refuel.  I am proficient in refueling and have checked that I'm on the correct channel/freq.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks again!

It worked flawlessly for me.

Are you sure you joined with the correct tanker? On my route towards Orange, Shell was actually the closer tanker relative to my position, so I double-checked with TACAN.

Edit: Then again, if you are on the correct freq, you should be able to at least contact the AI asset, no matter where you are on the map, as it is independent from the mission's trigger structure. So that can't be it.

FWIW, once I was on the tanker freq, I could hear the usual "DCS AI chatter" (which is a good indicator for being on the right freq).

Stupid question as I've always used Easy Comms.
I do have the transmit button mapped to my HOTAS, so I just press it (then I can see the UHF on the DED having a Yellow Background) and then I bring up the Comms menu press F6 at the same time? So I have to press those 2 buttons simultaneously?

Yes, 2 different keybinds iirc for dcs...one is a xmit UHF and one is like UHF comms menu ..that's the one you want. Same goes for vhf....I use the xmit UHF/vhf in conjunction with like SRS MP so I can visually see what I'm xmitting on without the overlay, but use the comms menu keybind for SP

Congratulations for your wonderful Job by this campaign. Now, as for the third mission, the AAR is for me already a strong challenge, but the tanker also slightly turns, a thing that makes it for me almost impossible😪.
