No CASE II situation

Doesn't matter what parameter i set up - i got no CASE II Recovery situation.
If i move the cloud base lower and lower... it switch from CASE I to CASE III, but no CASE II with a cloud base at 1000 ft. and visibility 5 nm.
If i active fog - it jumps direct to CASE III.

hm, i just tested this on mariana map.

Weather set:

Preset cloudy+rain 4

QNH 28.35, cloud base 8202 ft

(Wind settings don´t seem to matter at all)

-> Carrier is on Case II recovery.

When in doubt - climb. Nobody ever collided with air.

I am currently getting a case 2 recovery in a mission with cloud base at 18,000.....go figure!

The code doesn't seem to play nice with CASE switching in general. There are times with thick overcast at 2,500 and it's still giving me CASE I, which would make zero sense because anyone in the 3,000ft stack and above would be totally blind in the soup.

But at the same time, fighter pilots and CATCC personell have discussed on podcasts that CASE II practically never happens in the real world. They're either CASE I or III.

Have the same issue, I always get Case II recoveries in perfect conditions with zero clouds and fog

I'm having issues with the carrier ATC incorrectly reporting the approach conditions. In this instance I have set up what is a clear, no clouds, no wind, fog mode off, basically a perfectly clear sunny windless day. The carrier ATC though is reporting a CASE II approach when it very clearly is a CASE I.

I am also having issues of the carrier ATC reporting a CASE III approach when in what would be a standard CASE II, and perhaps it's the same thing causing the issue of getting a CASE II approach in CASE I conditions, but for the moment I'm just trying to get the carrier to report a CASE I approach.

Attached is a screenshot of the weather settings for the mission and a .trk file.

Also having this issue, I made a separate thread for this in particular but it's possible that these issues are stemming from the same root cause.

I think it has something to do with the new fog system

Yes when you enable fog, no matter how dense, it will be at least Case II.

Weird thing: Every other mission I open afterwards will also have Case II, even if it was Case I before and perfect wheather. If I close DCS and restart the mission it will be Case I again. So basically if I enable fog, every mission afterwards, no matter the condition, will be Case II or III until I restart DCS.

Okay, so my thread gets merged into here, a thread with a marked solution. My issue of CASE II being reported in CASE I conditions has not been solved.
