jackd Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 I, i just upgraded my pc from a i9 12900k to a i9 14900k. Checking tepteratures now, but HWINFO shows some as quite high; is that normal? most are around 30 to 40 Celcius.
SharpeXB Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 The max temp for a i9-14900K is 100c so you are fine. https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/i9-14900K-Temperatures-100º/td-p/1543181 Mine will get up to perhaps 90 sometimes under load so if those temps are what you get running DCS that actually seems pretty good. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Solution jackd Posted December 28, 2024 Author Solution Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) Just got enlightened on the IL2 forum: these TjMAX temps are about the headroom towards the max temp, what matters is the Core Temp below, here under 30m heavy load running IL2 sturmovik: Edited December 28, 2024 by jackd
