Nealius Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) I've noticed the taxi directors and cat shooters have a different logic while using the same signals, rather the signal instructions are in reference to different things between the two. Example: Taxi directors Move forward relative to current nose position Turn left/right relative to current nose position Cat shooters Move forward relative to shooter position Turn/move left/right relative to shooter position Is this inconsistency intended, or should they both be relative to nose position regardless of where the directing crew actually is? AMEDooley Posted January 19 Posted January 19 IRL they would have different logic. The directors on the Cats are looking at the tires and lining them up to the white lines for each type of aircraft. The directors elsewhere are just trying not to hit anything so they are less precise. However there still is a taxi flow they are all trying to maintain. Especially those that are backing the Cats. 1 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Nealius Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 Ah okay thanks. My brain always has a hiccup when switching from the taxi director's signals to the shooter's signals, where I start turning in place (like I would during taxi) instead of moving my entire aircraft left/right as directed by the shooter.
