Hi All,

DCS turns into a slide show when loading final campaign mission. Its all ok in Instant action and I get 90fps

Just wont load the cockpit graphics. Cant save track as crashes on exiting mission.

Updating to latest version now. But worried I have now got DCS versions that exceed my system and its coming to the end of the road for me and should of stuck with the version I had. Tried screenshotting but wouldn't

Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz   3.60 GHz
Installed RAM    32.0 GB
RTX 3070

Quest 2 cable linked

Running Occulus tray tool and Open XR and

Now update has failed whilst writing

As noted all ok in instant action

Any ideas would be great thanks. Im a silver simmer (53) and struggle ti find time to fly and have fun but mostly seem to be sorting problems out now unfortunately.

Hope files help

At first glance I'd bump your pagefile to 32GB (currently using 10 GB) and drop your preload radius (currently set at 100K).  Those 2 things are probably limiting your memory.

So had a chance to tweak. Dropped preload radius to 50. Loaded Mission.

It took 20mins to load the cockpit textures. After that a slide show!. So quit.

In instant action its fine. Cockpits load as quick as before and I get 70fps (dropped headset to 70hz)

As stated earlier worked fine before update. Gamlbers campaign worked great really smooth and 70fps (mostly apart from around Incirlik then 35fps occasionally)

Hi,

Some more advice

Change your pagefile to at least 32768 MB (initial size).

Set Preload Radius to max. 60000.

In Windows:
Disable Game Mode
Disable Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling

see if it makes a difference.

Hi BigNewy,

Thanks for advice. Set page file size, Disabled Game Mode, GPU scheduling was off already. Preload 60000. Cockpit loaded in quicker (about 10mins) but then going thru start up turns into a 2FPS slideshow and then crashes as I turned all 6 on (F16) to give you an idea as to where I got to.

As noted earlier works very smoothly before, with all the settings not as above. Is there a way I can re-install and earlier build of DCS as feel like this version is beyond my machines capability now??.

So cleared out cache files as recommended above.

Game loads into cockpit quicker (about 5mins)

But a constant stutter every few seconds during start up to the point I can accurately click on buttons then a crash about 5mins in

You can use either the command line option to change versions:

https://forum.dcs.world/topic/94816-guide-info-dcs-updater-usage-version-numbers-module-ids

Or use SkateZilla's updater / launcher (and more) tool to do so:

https://forum.dcs.world/topic/134493-the-dcs-updater-launcher-gui-utility-version-20-2023

With the tool installed and your DCS set up to a slot on main page, go to the advanced updater option tab and go from there.
You still have to look up the version numbers though which can be found here:

I don't know if related at all but there are some really long loading times taking place here as well. From the below log snippet there's a 5-7 minute gap (goes from 08:41:50 to 08:43:21 and then to 08:48:37).

Do you get long loading times in those other instant action missions as well, e.g. these should only take 1+ min? Is DCS on a fast SSD?

Can you, if you haven't already, try adding an exclusion to your anti-virus software for both the entire DCS installation folder, and your entire Saved Games\DCS folder, restart your PC, and then try again. Just curious if there is long times being taken loading stuff if anti-virus is scanning these as well.

Hi, In instant action loading time into cockpit from selecting missions is 30seconds. Game runs 70fps (with now occasional stutter). I have now removed firewall/anti virus software (as changing supplier anyway) and then I created a supercarrier mission in editor. Just me on deck no other planes in syria map. Took 45 seconds to enter cockpit with just the base geometry showing with some MFD screens. But wont load textures. 70fps showing, I can look around and go to external views but aircraft and carrier textures won't load.

Here is a screenshot that I managed to get. This is the state it stays in. I waited 10mins and nothing changed so quit.

Given my PC specs and VR. Do I just need to roll back the version. If so I will use the guide above kindly supplied.

Thanks for everyones help

Is there a guide somewhere on how to use the skatezilla utility to roll back the versions. I tried using it but I get an IO error.

Tried uninstall DCS and install latest version but that won't install at all now!!. Even after a total delete and clean. Will try and post error but takes hours to get to it.

Guess I post this now in the install problems forum at some point.

I'm the meantime due to lack of time BMS and IL2 awaits.

Thanks for everyone's attempts to help. Appreciate that this might not be just a DCS problem. Love DCS and this is such a great forum for help advice and support.

Will come back to try again soon
