I really enjoyed this mission. Great documentation. It's possible to complete it 100% on the first try and feel great about it after landing. It's not unrealistically difficult. However, I did have to improvise a bit.

Here are my observations:

  1. It would seriously help, and it would also be more realistic, if the coordinates included altitude as well, since the sender can see it. I had trouble finding the targets at the given coordinates even when I used 0 feet. I had to estimate the altitude at 720 feet based on the surrounding terrain. After that, it was fine.
  2. The intruder survived the attack by Devil31, who didn’t engage again, so I had to chase it down and shoot it myself. It might be a good idea to secure this with a trigger to ensure the intruder is destroyed after being hit by a missile.

Thanks for great mission 🙂

Thanks @Dovivan! Good points both, as for one I would need additional VOs (but will see what I can do), for the second I will add it (actually I am pretty sure I did, but in DCS even safeguards not always work).

Beware with voice attack, as it can cause bugs in the campaign for some players. Not for everyone, but don't say I didn't warn you!

Yeah, i've struggled with the same issue and also ended up having to experiment with altitudes to be able to pinpoint the targets based on the given coordinates. I'm still to complete M1 (got past the ground recon phase finally but ballsed up the intercept on my last attempt and ended up intercepting the wrong red jet) but am at least making some progress each time.

Had another go, still struggling with the intercept. Managed to get the wrong contact yet again and eventually caught up with the Backfire but was on fumes by the time I got to visual and ran out of gas completely by the time things presumably were ready to play out. Is there any way to get extra calls for the correct vector to the target? I got the initial 056 @ 22k and that was about all I got.

Hey, thanks for answer.

I know you recommended not using Voice Attack, but it is necessary for me. I have a few special button bindings for VR control that I can't bind in DCS (like waking up and centering the mouse cursor).

I understand this could potentially cause some issues, which is why I mentioned it as well.

Thanks again for the great fun with your missions.

Up to you of course, just don't say I didn't warn you 😉

Point 2 is great, on my first play through, I saw the splash on the bomber, and assumed it was going down, followed by a very awkward 20 minutes of no dialogue while I followed lead back to base and landed with no mission complete status. scrolled through F2 and saw the thing was still alive and landed at some airfield. Figured it was a trigger dependent on the unit being dead. Figure this could easily be fixed with a despawn unit and unit not in zone trigger, but could also be a "weapon in zone" trigger for the AIM-120 with a timer on it. after 30 seconds or so it triggers the next sequence weather the unit is dead or not. Sucks I didn't get the last part of the mission as it was intended on first play through, but what I did get was very enjoyable. Debating re-playing M1 entirely or just skipping to M2. Either way, its got me hooked despite the issue. Great work Baltic!

for the altitude point, obviously additional VO's is probably not a quick or reasonable fix from dev standpoint. Could you possibly just add the text for the altitude? Not a perfect fix, but it really is necessary, especially when not at sea level. Had to hop into F10 map and guess on the ALT to get myself anywhere close when designating.

Something has changed in the last few updates.  It used to be you could just put 0 ft and it would figure out from the digital maps in the system (or some other magical source, but at least that gave some sort of plausibility to how it was doing it 🤣) what the proper ground level was and adjust for it.  Now if you put in zero feet, it takes that literally as zero feet MSL and your point is off because it's looking underground.

Alright, I'll see if I can add the elevation to the voice over somehow - though that won't be for the imminent update which should be out shortly.
