Can't get the HP G2 headset to run more than about  a minute.  Been trying now over the last day and a half.

I know I'm not the only one from what I've seen on the web.  Fresh install of Steam, SteamVR, Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR, OpenXR, tried opening DCS in every configuration. Been using MT for 10 months.  Non-VR is great.

Been flying DCS for 10+ years, shouldn't be this hard.  I need help on this one.  When it runs that short amount of time the graphics are great.  Screen and G2 go 'black' when any mission loads, when you see the screen with the clouds and the 'blue line' loads the files, then it come back on, runs for a short time then freezes up, eventually it crashes and I then send a LOT of crash logs signing out.

I attached my last two log files and my system file.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks,

Chopper

umm at the end of your log it looks like all your devices got unplugged and I mean everything including your Monitor usb devices and the G2.. maybe try disable hotplug devices in option for controls?

Does the VR work with other games? what did you plug the USB from the G2 into? do you get the 4-1 error on the G2? does your devices get unplugged all the time or only when playing DCS?

Thanks for responding back . .

I've confirmed that the HOT PLUG in SETTINGS is ENABLED  . . . . but I tried with it being DISABLED and there was no change

Yes, VR works perfectly with the Mixed Reality piece.  I purchased it exclusively for DCS.  So I really don't do anything else with it.  I have no other VR games.

The large G2 plug goes directly into my video card, the other into the back of the computer, no adaptor.

Never have seen a "4-1 error" . . cables stay plugged in all the time.

Here are the latest two logs from this morning.

The VR shutters and then freezes, sometimes run a few seconds longer, freezes as mission starts . . . I'm clueless

Thanks again!

well your PC is a bit on the low end not sure if that is a factor but it could also be a cable issue.. the log to me with a quick lookover does not seem to be anything out of place like your other log but I will have a better look.

When did you buy the G2, you do realise it may only be good until Oct. this year after that Microsoft is taking mixed reality portal off the air so the G2 and other WMR Headsets are not going to work any longer..

I did notice in your command line you have the arguments listed I do not think they are needed any longer.. also what resolution and Hz rate are you using I would reccomend turning down the overall resolution and set it too 60hz if you are on 90hz.. you pc is not going to be able to handle full rez and Hz rate..

if you have MSAA On try and disabling it also do you have gamemode and hags on in Windows?

It seems to be a power issue, sometimes, my reverb g2 exits like yours if I overclok the gpu or forgot to unplug some usb devices not needed (like the one controls my earphones), also if you have the latest g2 power cable , when you find 4-1 error, do not press the button on the cable box to reset, just unplug the power cable and plug it again without closing the reality mixed portal, you see tha the devide works again, make sure that on prv properties , you have the disconect time wait to never , and of course do not force your gpu to more than is cappable to work, ike mssax2 or shadows enabled and so on.

Make sure also on your devices manager that usb suspend mode in all usb devices (with the g2 plugged in) are disabled

I appreciate everyone's input to my issue.  Seems like it's always what you thought was the problem.  My video card . . . I tried EVERYTHING else, process of elimination.

My card has been great for  9 plus years, a GEFORCE GTX 1080 DUKE . . but it was failing.  I purchased a

MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB GDRR6 Extreme Clock: 2625 MHz 128-Bit HDMI/DP Nvlink TORX Fan 4.0 Ada Lovelace Architecture Graphics Card (RTX 4060 Ti Ventus 2X Black 16G OC)

My good friend gave me his HP G2, he went to the Meta Quest 3, wireless.  One monitor cable later, 1.5 hours on configuring good Frame Rate and I flew in multiplayer with 4 guys for almost 2 hours with no issues.  Achieving at times 50 FPS . . . but mostly around 34 FPS.

So 'case closed' on this one.
