jackd Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 (edited) Still puzzling with the gun behavior of the FW190-a8 's guns .... I found one where they function, except that the inner wing and nose guns won't fire, although all buttons and load-outs seem OK: FW190A8-SP-Channel-No Ball Raid Scramble_JJ.miz (there is a boring intro page i need to remove, from some tech default game folder) And this one where though when all is set right and loaded the breechblock lights wont light up and the guns wont fire. JJ-modded_-_Scapa_Flow_1939_-_Gunther_Prien.miz (not my mission, only experimented with runway start and rockets, why 'modded') Beats me and i cannot find out why. Edited February 20 by jackd
jackd Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 (edited) BUMP .. just tested the lot again, but now in a fresh Windows 11 LTSC installation ... same behavior ! But now i begin to think it has to do with some settings in the mission files it self ... In this slightly modded default mission from the WW2 units folder .... DCS World Openbeta\Mods\tech\WWII Units\Missions\FW-190A-8\Single all works fine, only lift the gun safety lever with L-shift and Space first: Fw190A8-Operation Jubilee-Sink The Royal Navy-v2-jj.miz Edited March 1 by jackd
razo+r Posted March 1 Posted March 1 @jackd Those attached files are all .miz files, so useless. We need .trk files to see what you or your Streamdeck setup did wrong. Have you always been using the Streamdeck so far? If yes, why don't you just... use the mouse to press the buttons... It's one press and then you never have to touch it again... 1
jackd Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 (edited) Right now i am not using streamdeck anymore for DCS, just the mousing around for the testing, and setting the controls up for my warthog set in the controls page. For now bombs and rockets fire only with the same button (B2 on the stick), cant split them sofar LoL. BTW I am in extensive communication with Elgato Streamdeck techies about the WIN keys malfunctioning. With especially their sent reporting tool and online communication from it. WIN keys do work with a Razer tartarus v2 gamepad, but not with Streamdeck, they must be jealous .. . PS that mission above is fun, but quite difficult, I get such a job done easier in IL2 ... You can’t split bombs and rockets, this is correct as is. 1 1 Serious uglies Discord 4YA - Project Overlord WW2 Server My DCS Videos

jackd Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 Just been looking at the a8 setups in IL2, indeed no rockets (werfer) and bombs together in the FW190-a8 possible. In DCS it is, but only they fire at the same button presses. So there is historically seen seemingly fault in the DCS a8 LoL.
Dragon1-1 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 54 minutes ago, jackd said: So there is historically seen seemingly fault in the DCS a8 LoL. You'll see a lot of that in DCS. It simulates the aircraft with all their quirks, and that involves all the crocks and bad design decisions made by the designers of the real aircraft. In this case, though, it's more or a limitation of the aircraft's weapon control systems. Remember, no computers in those days, everything was simple wires and switches. 1
jackd Posted March 28 Author Posted March 28 I just ran across a post from Doughguy ---------------------------------- Quote: Posted January 27 User error..... If your engine is running, check that all cbs are pushed in. Then turn on the top switch. Wait until all 4 mg151 lights are on. THEN turn on the lower switch. Red lights come on for mg131. Open safety cover. Fire. You have 2 buttons to use. Fire inner wing cannons plus mgs And one for outer cannons.. ----------------------------------- It works!
