GeoS72 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Pretty please with extra sugar on top, could the WebGUI interface (aka DCS Server Dashboard) get some attention? There is a very long delay when adding, removing, and changing maps in the DCS Server Dashboard. The amount of lag between making a change and seeing the result makes a user wonder if the server crashed and would need to be restarted. Even restarting the server can take up to 10 minutes!

GeoS72 Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Hi Flappie, When I say change to a new map, I mean that a new MIZ file is loaded. So, when a new mission is loaded. I have also seen the WebGUI lag when making changes to the server settings. Does that help?
GeoS72 Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Thank you! If you need a demonstration, then I am available to help.
Flappie Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Here are the results of my WebGUI test. I run a dedicated server on my gaming PC (Ryzen 3700, 64 GB of RAM). Adding a new mission to the list: instantaneous. Removing a mission from the list: instantaneous. Changing a setting takes less than a second. Loading a mission file: it depends on the mission and if the theater is already loaded into memory. Switching from a Syria mission to a PG mission takes about 32 seconds on my PC. What are the the times you're getting? ---
GeoS72 Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Flappie, I use a Fox3MS server and my missions are stored on their NextCloud server. Here are my results: Adding a new mission to the list: 3 - 6 sec Removing a mission from the list: 3 sec Changing a setting, tested with Advanced Settings - Selected "Crash" in Show messages in Chat option: 1:10 min, 1:15 min, and 1:16 min (tested three times), after the restart, it also changed the mission to the first listed mission! It loaded the first listed mission twice. When changing the advanced settings for a second time, it failed to deselect the same Show "Crash" message in the chat room. I had to reset the server for a 3rd time to remove that message option. That equals more time wasted on a server restart. Loading a mission file: 2:13 min & 2:40 min, got a "Server not responding message" Adding a new file via the Add Mission button: 1:24 min. It took this much time for the list to repopulate with a brand new file. Changing the Observer Name: 5 sec
Flappie Posted February 8 Posted February 8 My tests were made locally, were there was no lag between the server and the WebGUI. This shows the WebGUI by itself does not suffer from lag. Chances are the issue is on your service provider's side. We need to have another server owner come here to give us his/her timings. ---

Actium Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Tried with a locally hosted dedicated server (Windows 10, Ryzen 9 5900X, 64G DDR4@3600, and Samsung 990 Pro). Switching between missions on Caucasus takes 2~3 seconds. Switching between Marianas and Caucasus takes roughly 5~7 seconds. I believe, you will have to take it up with your managed server provider.
Actium Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Same recommendation as for your other issue: Enable debug logging, check the contents of dcs.log, compare logs with a local dedicated server install using the same config and steps.
