bonesvf103 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Is there a better way to sight the TGP to a target of opportunity? I try using SP but when I do, the TGP sometimes starts at a point near the horizon, sometimes it's way off at who knows where and I can't manually slew it on target on time. I even tried changing the ground radar range to 15 just to get it to look lower below my nose but that doesn't help much either. WHat do you all do? Thanks. v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. I would have 80 pounds of flesh to eat and a pair of glasses to start a fire." --F/A-18 Hornet pilot
razo+r Posted February 3 Posted February 3 You could for example put FCR as SOI, Range as low as possible, enter SP, TMS up, switch to TGP and refine SPI location. You can also use the HMCS to see if you are moving it into the right direction. What also often helps is if you get some distance between you and the target. Distance means time, less fumbling and in general a more relaxed and smooth setup.
bonesvf103 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Thanks, that's pretty much what I'm doing now, so it will have to do. I just wish it had something where you can slav it to say your VV/FPM like you can in the Hornet. v6, boNes "Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. razo+r Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Some weapons weapons feature modes like VIS, DTOS or BORE, which enables you to do that. You get a TD Box on your HUD that you can then move onto target and employ the weapon that way instead of fiddling around with the TGP/FCR.
