Is there a better way to sight the TGP to a target of opportunity?  I try using SP but when I do, the TGP sometimes starts at a point near the horizon, sometimes it's way off at who knows where and I can't manually slew it on target on time.  I even tried changing the ground radar range to 15 just to get it to look lower below my nose but that doesn't help much either.  WHat do you all do?

Thanks.

You could for example put FCR as SOI, Range as low as possible, enter SP, TMS up, switch to TGP and refine SPI location. You can also use the HMCS to see if you are moving it into the right direction.

What also often helps is if you get some distance between you and the target. Distance means time, less fumbling and in general a more relaxed and smooth setup.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I'm doing now, so it will have to do.  I just wish it had something where you can slav it to say your VV/FPM like you can in the Hornet.

Some weapons weapons feature modes like VIS, DTOS or BORE, which enables you to do that. You get a TD Box on your HUD that you can then move onto target and employ the weapon that way instead of fiddling around with the TGP/FCR.

Typically if I don't want to use snowplow mode to focus the TGP onto a target area, I just use my JHMCS to make a markpoint, which I can then slave the TGP to.
