Lixma 06 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 In this video Wags shows off the HMCS BORE mode ellipse. While in DGFT mode he brings it up with TMS Up LONG In-game however it only takes TMS Up SHORT to activate the ellipse.
Lange_666 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Yep TMS Up Long doesn't do that. Currently I'm (re-)learning the F-16 and it's difficult sometimes to get some stuff to work if I follow the steps in a video, certainly video's that are a few years old. 1 Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
ED Team Lord Vader Posted February 12 ED Team Posted February 12 Hello @Lixma 06 Given the recent update to it, our DCS: F-16C manual is actually the best source to learn how to use the aircraft systems. This manual was reviewed to depict the most recent adjustments and additions. Unfortunately, some of the older videos may include some imprecisions or even incomplete procedures. Please take some time to read page 434 of this manual to confirm that indeed it's the TMS Forward press (short) that brings the ACM Bore option using the HMCS. Thanks for understanding. It doesn't say short (or long) on that page - It just says 'press TMS forward' Wags' video explicitly says 'long' - hence the confusion. It might be relevant that in AG Vis mode a long press forward is needed to slave sensors to the helmet. In ACM Bore, slaving the antenna to the helmet, I would have thought, would also be 'protected' by a long press forward. Edited February 12 by Lixma 06 1
