NorthernMenace Posted February 22 Posted February 22 In DCS control settings, I have bound a HOTAS button for re-centring VR so do not want to have the Numpad5 'default' option [I never set it...]. There are no 'keyboard' keys bound to re-centre VR according to my DCS control setup. The HOTAS re-centre works perfectly. Unfortunately, Numpad5 on my keyboard still fires a VR re-centre signal, meaning it messes up my view if my head is not centred. So for example if I was using Numpad5 to enter a frequency into the UFC scratchpad, it would have the undesired side effect of centring my VR view. Is there some lower-level setting [eg outside of DCS] controlling this? This is a HP Reverb G2 with OpenXR/Windows Mixed Reality thanks in advance for any ideas

I cleared any keyboard mapping from "recenter VR" and only have my joystick button bound in DCS. Yet, when I click keypad 5 it still recenters. Have you found a solution?
F4ttyRider Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Is it old "hardcoded" re-center bug...? You can't left the re-center unbinded. You have to bind it some way. I use some crazy modeifier combo, like lcrt+lalt+rshift+lwin +num5. After that you can use it as just a normal num5 key and bind it the way you want. I removed any keyboard binding and bound it to a button on my hotas. But even after removing the num5 keybind and replacing with a bind to my hotas the num5 is still causing the recenter. So are you saying that I must have a keyboard binding regardless of if it is bound with a hotas?
speed-of-heat Posted April 10 Posted April 10 yep... so it seems... unless there is a keyboard binding it will use NUM5 ... i have now bound mine to LCTRL, LSHFT, LALT , WIN, RCTRL, RSHIFT, RALT NUM5 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

Seems wonky, but at least I know about it now lol. TY
NorthernMenace Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 Thanks for replies guys. Looks like a simple enough solution, but not obvious
speed-of-heat Posted April 12 Posted April 12 @BIGNEWY is this functionality intended: e.g. unless a different *keyboard* bind is present NUM5 will always be active even if you have bound a button to a joystick and or cleared the existing keybind?
