It is hard enough to have ideas for single missions. I don't think I have enough ideas left for a campaign.

 

Mose of my missions take 3-4 hours to complete.

I don't think that somebody want to fly 3-4 missions in series.

Series is not to be played all at once, just one per week.

 

I like series, that's why I play more offline campaign than online. Sometimes I wish I had a human wingman instead of my dumb AI buddy when playing campaigns. Today in GOW I had to RTB 3 times to rearm/refuel because my wingman killed himself early on.

 

Yeah i know it's hard work, I'm not asking you to do one just wondering if you were thinking of it :smilewink:

Cool, a new one, can't wait Dragon!

 

I have a question for you and everyone else. In combined missions such as Bigfoot and this last one, where DCS: BS and FC work together, are these missions doable/winable if not all slots are filled?

 

Also, even if all slots are filled, is the team required to act as a unified unit in order to win?

 

What I am after is a mission that would only work if all team members did their jobs and collaborated, one that would require a high degree of coordination over the radio, and I was then wondering if these missions were of this sort, since if anyone could make them, in my mind, Dragon would be the one.

Yes, my missions are winable also if not all slots are filled.

For a missiondesigner it is very hard to get this possibility in a mission.

To make the mission winable with only a view slots is my goal because the missions are running on a puplic server.

Sometimes the server is full but mostly there are only 2-5 guys. So you see you HAVE TO do a mission winable with 2-5 guys.

 

But if the server is full everyone have his own part like you can see in the briefing.

 

Task of Operation Bigfoot:

 

# Su-25T #

You have the task to destroy the four HAWK-emplacements in the mountains.

It is possible that there are some further radar-guided SAMs in the camps.

Keep your eyes wide open and clean the area from that radar-SAMs for our A-10C and Ka-50.

 

# Ka-50 #

As long as the HAWK-emplacements are still active you have to keep your heads low!

Do not climb above 200m above ground-level.

We assume that different convoys move forward to attack the chemical plant.

Search and destroy them.

In the target area expect numerous small enemy groups.

Clean the area and move forward through the canyon until you get to the four enemy tent camps to support our Su-25T.

 

# A-10C #

Support our Ka-50 during the attack on the enemy convoys and groups in the target area.

Destroy all radar-guided SAMs in the four tent-camps.

 

# F-15C , Mig-29S , Su-27 #

We expect that the enemy will be supported by aircraft.

Assure our air-superiority and make sure our units are able to fullfill their task.

Destroy all enemy fighters and watch out for SAM-launches from the HAWKs as long as they are still active.

 

So both ways are possible. It is very hard to win the mission with only a view slots but it is POSSIBLE. If all slots are filled it is a easyer mission if everybody is working together.

E.g. Last WE I took the AFAC Ka-50 with smoke rockets and marked targets for a A-10 pilot. it was a lot of fun.

Thanks for the explanation, maybe we should schedule a session to make sure we have enough players for each slot, that should be a lot of fun!

 

Also, I would like to submit to you the idea of someday creating a mission that has many slots in many different roles and that requires everyone to perform well otherwise it is not winable. Of course this type of mission would not be the average type you see on servers all the time, as it would require both items I mentioned in my previous message, which are group planning and communications, but I think for a squadron or a group of friends it would be incredibly satisfying to complete and win such a mission!

of course, please send me the idea. I hope I'll be able to understand the technical language. My english is not the best you know ;).

 

But please notice: Most server are standalone PCs at home with a small internet performance. My server (STP II) is able to handle 10-12 clients maximum.

Gudauta Rush

Enemy troups crossed the border a few days ago. They overran Gudauta-airport and occupied the area.

Four hostile HAWK-sites are located in the mountains north of Gudauta, which are controlling the air-sector around Gudauta.

Because we have many losses on both sides during the combat around the airport the strength of our ground forces is extremely reduced.

The main hostile tank-forces actually are located north of Gudauta (Satalite picture).

They are awaiting urgent fuel and munition delivery.

We have Intels that the support for this troops is on the way.

One Il-76 "Candid" currently departed Sochi-Adler and will arrive at Gudauta.

We expect that a armored supply-convoy will advance from the airport to the tank-forces.

The convoy has to be destroyed before it arrives at the location of the tank-forces! Operation "Gudauta-Rush" starts immediately!

First we have to achieve air-superiority and conduct a large air-strike.

As soon as the route to Gudauta is cleared our ground-task-force "Stryker" will depart and occupy Gudauta-airport.

Improvement suggestion for mission bigfoot:

 

A friendly long range SAM System that reaches almost to the airbase would be cool. Then you still might have a chance to run and hide under mummy's skirt if the enemy fighters are chasing your bomber !

Over decades the tension between the USA and Russia have increased.

Both adversaries have concentrated their troops, reinforced border-posts and secured the terrain.

 

The USA have stationed several fightersquadrons at the airport of Nalchik and have established a FARP Torba near the border river.

Of course, these were all just means to provide local security.

Russia has answered with an equal number of aircraft, stationed at the airport of Mineralnye Vody.

Their FARP Kalitka was constructed close to the border river as well.

 

It's just a matter of time, until this volatile situation will escalate and turn into an full scale armed conflict...

I see that's a latest trend in mission-making to turn on maximum civil traffic :smilewink: :D I really like seeing rockets roaring above...buses, cars on the move :megalol:

 

Nevermind, at first sight looks to be very interesting. More feedback later on.

Hi Schtuzer,

 

the civil traffic is not forced in the missionoption. If you deactivate it in your options, you shouldn't see any civil traffic anymore. :)

In this case I think it was forced at STP Pilots II server yesterday, because civil traffic is deactivated in my game settings too.

 

I'm having problems starting this mission on my PC (both MP and SP). I appear on these helipods (see shots attached) with Mi-28 and AH-64 starting to kill each other over the base. My installation is not modded, so I wonder if anybody came across similiar issue.

This is possible, yes.

But in my point of view, civil traffic is realistic.

This is normal. The missions are protected. :music_whistling:

Once you saved the mission in the editor it is damaged like you can see in your pictures.

But you are able to fly the missions on your PC. Just don't save it in the Editor.
