Looks like Chinooks were based there until the late eighties. The pictures show also some hueys and kiowas (earlier models than what we've got in DCS, though).

It seems like we got a lot of fictional helo bases in lieu of actual bases that are marked on the topographic map. I found a couple that are placed accurately, like Wurzburg, and there's some that are close like the ones at the training ranges, but they're located on the wrong corner of the training range.

I've already purchased the map so this wish wouldn't impact my decision to buy or not but it would sure be nice to see the airfield at Kitzingen, home of the 3rd Combat Aviation Battalion or, Aviation Battalion Combat, depending on when you were there. Best 2 years of my life spent there back in '77-'79.

I was stationed at Finthen Army Airfield '88-'90, indeed we had CH-47, UH-1, AH-1S, OH-58C, UH-60 based there, no AH-64A those were the new hotness at nearby Wiesbaden Air Base which is modeled.
