kmaultsby Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Hello all, I am new to the Winwing equipment and have received a lot of help from others here. I am still a rookie flying the F16, and the Joystick felt light to me, so I ordered the CAM spring kit. I changed out the CAM so it would have less center play but made the joystick feel stiffer. This is okay, but now I am working on my air-to-air refueling, and the stiffer feel may not be a good idea. I would like to hear from others about the stick's play. Do you like it? If you didn't make any changes did you adjust the curve sensitivity a lot in A settings? Did you change out the CAMS, springs, or both?

That's how it's in the real one. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

I did exactly the same, and went back to the default springs ... my impressions from my usage of them is that the stiffer springs are designed more for stick extensions SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

Winwing's "force sensing" works nothing like it does in the real jet. It seems to be a weird contraption which deflects first, then allows you to ramp up the force after hitting the stops.

Dragon1-1 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 That might have been the Winwing's intention, but the way they implemented it is bizarre, and quite frankly, it doesn't actually work right. You get displacement, a gap, and only then force sensing kicks in. The "fully realistic mode" (displacement only) is actually how the Viper does it, but on that, the "centering spring" is a solid metal bar that you can bend a little. I don't know how Winwing did centering in that mode, but much it's too light to be of any use. 1

Hard pass for me then!Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

I am getting used to it. Feel more like Thrustmaster now with less center 2
YSIAD_RIP Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I have a stick Extension and thicker springs are a must have. Has a hack and just for fun I added some good quality elastic bands along with the springs to my Orion 2 Base to give the springs a little more compression. I have seen elastic bands used in some flight sim yoke modes in the past. No complaints so far, especially if you want a little more resistance for Pitch vs less for roll.
