Wood Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Hey guys just added a Dedicated 1TB SSD to my SERVER. I'm running my server with windows server 2016. I usually run 3 instances with no issue. However I have noticed an increase in memory usage. Any thoughts on this? The Instance with the smaller memory usage is the biggest mission. Go figure. Maverick87Shaka Posted March 28 Posted March 28 I've reported internally several times, memory usage increase at point that we had to shutdown one of our instances. We didn't receive any offical feedback from ED on this particular problem. It's just been added to a generic "investigating" status, but no update so far, so as per my understanding, they are not putting any effort on that to mitigate the problem. The stuff can only getting worst in the future. This was my internal report: 2 FlighRIG => CPU: RyZen 5900x | RAM: 64GB Corsair 3000Mhz | GPU: nVIDIA RTX 4090 FE | OS Storage: SSD NVMe Samsung 850 Pro 512GB, DCS Storage: SSD NVMe Sabrent 1TB | Device: Multipurpose-UFC, VirPil T-50, TM WARTHOG Throttle, TrackHat, MFD Cougar with screen. From my experience, the mission size has only limited impact on the dedicated server RAM usage. Primary factor appears to be the terrain, because the dedicated server loads all or most of it into RAM when starting. Additionally, when running multiple dedicated server instances on the same terrain, the file mappings that DCS partially relies on may result in memory being shared between processes. I don't know how Windows does the memory accounting in that case, but I could image that the memory is only accounted to the first process. Take this with a grain of salt, I use Linux, so I'm not familiar with Windows memory management.

The size of DCS is insane and I was shocked to see that the size of the dedicated server sitting at just under 400gb. That’s nuts. I’ve been running this server for years now and never noticed the memory this bad before. I appreciate your reply.
