Since upgrading to Win 11 24H2 DCS login fails. I now get the standard 3 day limited access. DCS 2.9.17.8222.
Seems the login works, like username/password, or you wouldn't be able to use your modules. What happens is that DCS cannot contact the licensing servers. Internet is working, right? Some users have reported this, while fixing it with forcing Windows to use Google's DNS servers. Do you know how to set them?

Tx for reply. Correct. User name and PW are apparently accepted, but I get Login Failed message along with 3-day use authorization and DCS starts and functions normally.  Internet functions normally. I do not know how to force Windows to use Google DNS servers. Will google DNS servers affect anything else like SRS? Possible Windows Defender issue?

OK, DNS already set to 8.8.8.8 and alternate 8.8.4.4.

Ah, they are? And you still have issues? Reboot?

Were your DCS in offline mode before upgrading windows?

Rename the DCS folder in 'saved games' to something else like 'DCS_Old', and try to log in again.

If renaming the 'DCS' folder inside 'saved games' doesn't fix, I think you should contact support.

Typical path to that folder: C:\Users\<your user ID in windows>\Saved Games\DCS

OK. Easy fix. Deleted expired module trial.
Oh, Lord! That again!
Happy skies!

Edit: Note to self. Remember to ALWAYS ask for the log file.

I had the same issue with Win 11 24H2. Someone in this forum - shame on me I don't recall the name - suggested to add the line "185.195.197.4 api.digitalcombatsimulator.com" to \\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts  file, because Win11 might not be able to resolve the DCS login server name to an IP. Seemed to be the root cause, at least it fixed my issue.

It was discovered that it was not that particular problem.
And wasn't the DNS issue solved by the latest patch? If so, you should clean out that host file immediately. And personally I would NEVER mess with host files as they are often completely forgotten and 40+ year old tech, even if Windows resort to it as the last option. Changing the DNS, preferably in your router, is way more sexy.

Nah, the hosts file takes precedence over anything else.

It may work as a quick workaround but I also encourage to resolve the issue because the IP may change after some time and it may be hard to troubleshoot then until someone remembers about the hosts file or make redirection tests.
