I think it might to have something to do with the windowed (and so the windowed full screen) mode.

hello. confused by your question. do you mean windows does not turn off display when DCS is paused? i personally have full screen enabled in DCS. if i pause DCS and come back after a few minutes the screen is off.

I mean:

I am in the middle of flight without pausing. Suddenly the screen goes black. I have to move the mouse or press something on keyboard to turn the monitor on again. My assumption is the system somehow don't know the game is running so the powers setting "turn off display after 10 minutes of idling" simply turns off the display right in the middle of flight.

I think the DCS itself is not the main issue. It probably behaves like "running on background" which may cause this issue. I will post log once it happens but I am afraid that you will find nothing.

Yes, Win11. Right now I have set power plan to turn display off after 3 minutes of idling. Will see the result.

It happens to me too. It's the power plan, not DCS, in my Razer software. If I don't touch the mouse or keyboard in 15 minutes or so. Joysticks will not extend the time for some reasons unknown!

Does the ultimate power setting turned off core parking by default?

BTW I would like to know reason to hide this power option by default. It's not fair. 😄

ultimate lets everything work as hard as it can with power consumption not a worry. keeping it hidden is a question i have too. i think it is because of worries of what would happen if all pcs in the world have this set. a lot more power being used.
