ATC for carrier landing bugged?

Hey guys,

I used to land in carriers a lot using Auto Throttle Control. I stopped flying the F/A-18 for some time. Then I went back and it is not working for me anymore. I engage it and I see the speed going to 180 kn just before touch down.

Is it bugged? Am I forgetting something?
What I do is

turn anti skid off, hook down, flaps full, gear down

I align that HUD symbol with horizon, cut throttle and engage ATC

Am I missing something? Any idea why is not working?
Thanks!

When you say you "cut the throttle", do you mean you go idle? That probably won't engage ATC. You should be configured for landing and on-speed, then engage. The ATC needs a reference point to adjust for. Possibly try that to rule it out.
Cheers!

you should be throttled to the speed you want and leave the throttle alone....and even then, is it even recommended to do so? no, your throttle should at least match the speed; once you hit your approx speed, you touch ATC and leave the throttle alone. cutting the throttle disconnects ATC.
