Lenux Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 Tried again with exactly the same aircraft, Su27, Instant Action, Free Flight, different maps It's running absolutely amazing, no issues at all With Germany map, same aircraft, it's loading about 70-80 % (sometimes it's loading and I can fly) and it's freezing somehow. Smashy Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Just a shot in the dark after skimming your log, but perhaps bumping up your page file from 16GB to 32GB might help.
rob10 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Bump your pagefile. This is one part of the crash error: 2025-04-20 18:47:10.112 INFO EDCORE (12968): 0x0000000000025b2b (edCore): ed::fatal_out_of_memory + 0x3B Germany is very likely going to need more memory and you have your PRELOAD set to 150,000 so it's gobbling up massive amounts of RAM/Pagefile, so drop that to 40,000 or something more reasonable as well. DCS is a different kind of load than other games, so saying other games work fine doesn't mean it's not a hardware issue. DCS may stress a part that isn't used much in a different game. And different maps are going to behave differently due to the fact they are coded differently. And may have more detail that pushes your system as you're seeing here. 1 1

I'd let Windows auto-manage the page file. Setting it manually maybe have a tiny advantage in DCS but is generally bad advice. Windows is smarter in managing that file than any user.
Lenux Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 Okay guys, I'll let the OS to manage the page file and I'll reduce the Preload to 60.000 I'll report back, thank you so much for your help 2 I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5

Windows is smarter in managing that file than any user. Based on experience here, IMHO you're wrong on that. Setting a fixed pagefile has helped MANY users that were running out of memory. Windows can't adjust it fast enough to keep up in DCS if you're on the margins for memory. The one watchout is how full is your drive that your pagefile is on? You need at least 10-15% free space AFTER you deduct the amount you're setting pagefile to or you're going to run into issues with it anyway (and Windows won't use it if you leave it to the system). 4
Lenux Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 (edited) Right now I'm flying ( free flight) the Su27, game is paused, I'm writing from my phone. Question, very off topic, I don't want to finish / close /the flight now. I'm pressing Alt +Y to open my nVidia FPS counter. But the aircraft is slowing down, like 2-3 fps. I searched inside the Control Options for Su27, but I can't see any command Alt+Y (to disable it) Any ideas? Thank you LE, fixed it with the FPS counter 60 fps, GPU 71 % CPU 26 % and LATENCY 0 ms PRELOAD is 55.000 Page file, OS managed Edited April 20 by Lenux I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5
Bealdor Posted April 20 Posted April 20 (edited) LAlt + Y = Slow down time LCtrl + Y = Fast forward time LShift + Y = Default 1.0 x time In the controls options it's actually written as LAlt + Z but I guess you're using a non-english keyboard like I do where the Y is right next to the X. Lenux Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 Thank you so much for your help, everyone So far, it looks great. I'll keep testing it. I'm trying now to find out how to turn off the warning sounds for Su27 and Su33 ( FC 3 ) and M2000C Where are the sound folders, now? Played with those file sounds, years ago, now everything looks different. Thank you, again. If you had posted it when asked for, you'd have saved yourself a lot of time and grief. Cheers and happy skies! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1 1
Ian Boys UK Posted April 21 Posted April 21 There's a button to mute the RWR, if that's what you mean?
