Mission 7 SPOILER (Impossible?)

So i just got to mission 7 and tried it and i am unsure if i am missing something or maybe i am expected to do something other that what i am. 

The mission takes place at night and you are not given night vision. I suppose i could equip it but i just figured maybe the point was to not have it. My issue is the pave spike is a TV only pod so it sees all of nothing at night. I also can see all of nothing at night. The target is not lit at all either. So i suppose my question is how am i supposed to find the target and strike it if its not lit and the pod can not see anything at all?

Like the briefing says, once HB gives us Jester commands to control the pod automatically, it will be possible. Until then, yeah, it's very hard.

Fair enough, I'm going to give it another shot with night vision on and see what I can accomplish. Now on mission 11 and I must say this is one of the best campaigns I've done. Very much enjoying it and surprisingly pulling off consistent 80% successes my first time through which feels pretty good. Good work and look forward too whatever you have coming in the future, especially for the Phabulous Phantom!

I just played Mission 7 yesterday. I faced the same issue and thought about replaying ist to improve from my 60 % rating, but I suggest that the bombing task is not the actual deal of this particular mission. I can only agree with Moosemermaid, this is just an awesome masterpiece of a dcs campaign.

What I find most difficult is to stay in my altitude block.

Yes, that was my second miss in this mission. Pitch black night, staring at the instruments, flying the holding and trying to fence in without turning upside down.  I will definetly give it another try, but i think i´ll whait until Jester manages to designate the target. There are some missions left and i also want to proceed in the Debden Eagles campaign which i find even more challanging. And then there are Speed and Angels, Zone 5, Fear the Bones and Paradise Lost waiting in my missions folder although I´m not even able to fly the F14 proper nor the Huey. Did I mention that I got addicted to your work? I think I´ve got enough content until next year.
