cobragva Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Hello, Came back to DCS after spent time on Falcon BMS campaigns. Tried Mission 01 and did enter the coordinates NQ 9049 2476 and there is nothing. I cannot find the vehicles. Anybody has a clue where the vehicles are. I tried twice and same issue......started to be frustrated again by the scripting part of DCS. Thanks in advance for your help. 1
Lord Reaver Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Same here, I get from my leader NQ 9093 2665 but I cannot figure how to put the number, I go to HSI, UFC and then I have tried 909 327, 909300 .. and so on.. I imagine it´s my fault... but how can I enter the offset point on waypont 6? Thanks in advanced
cobragva Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 (edited) to input the coordinates, you add a waypoint and then on the UFC, you click on the grid button, select NQ then type the coordinates and enter and that is it. The flir should be on the ground units or very close @Lord Reaveractually, the way to type coordinates is that we need to add a 0 at the end of each 4 digits ie: NQ 90930 26650 After 4 flights, I was able to find the vehicule but quite far from the coordinates (why then having coordinates if they are that far...I felt playing cluedo instead of flying ) then i got the second coordinates, find the vehicles. Don't forget to tape it otherwise, nothing will happen anymore...then got the message for the russian plane, couldn't find it...nothing on the SA (the message comes from the E3 so they must have it on the radar). I went toward the vector (049..something) but was short of fuel so never made it I really find the scripting campaign really bad in general as the scripting is too narrow and it removes a lot of the fun. I flew 4 times this first mission and already get frustrated and bored ...and I am only at the first mission of the campaign. is the save function working for this campaign ? cobragva Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 well, tried one more time (total 5) and found the bomber, got closer, maybe had used the trigger too early than the 800 feet, got in very close formation of the tanker for about 10 minutes and then nothing happened. Why making campaigns with such "sensitive" triggers...as we know, it will most likely messed the mission. I am so fed up with too scripted campaign...one of the last i bought we had to do coding passwords to open next missions..now again .scripted kills the fun...I regret my purchase.

I understand your frustration and trust me, I am having even more of that when every second DCS update breaks something that used to work. You can either have scripted campaigns that are immersive, or non-scripted that are not but at least work better most of the time. Now one question - are you using any 3rd party unofficial mods? Aircraft etc? These are known to cause issues with the campaigns and this is something entirely on the DCS side of things. Especially that most of the people never had issues with M01, so I suspect it may be something on your side and not with the campaign itself.. the mission uses a very simple script: if you are within certain range of the bomber, then it will continue. Maybe you didn't get close enough? In any case, let me know about the mods, this may be an issue as well. For more information, please visit my website. Hi Baltic Dragon, I fully understand you on our frustration...I had done some mission for my previous squad and that happened and I didn't have your drive and motivation on DCS to update them. I am a full supporter of your work as I started to play your campaigns with the Mirage and bought others once from you. I don't have any mods installed but maybe it is my graphic settings that might create some issues. However, these are my experiences so far with your campaign hence the frustation: M1: flew it 4-5 times. 1st and 2nd time, couldn't find the targets. 3rd time, found them. 4th time, didn't find the first one but said I saw it, found the second one and mission success M2: flew is 4 times: 1st time, could find the bombers, 2nd, 3rd find the bombers, at some stage you have a trigger, they disappeared and could never find them although i used the awacs (f10). 4th time, same issue...searching them for ever, got a message that it is all sorted, landed...mission success without having shot any missiles nor shot down any airplanes M3: flew it 4 times- arrived on WP3, got the smokes..trying to follow the road north during 5 miles (as disclosed by the awac)...couldn't find any vehicles. During one try, I followed the road with the plane, got shot down by the vehicles..crashed where they werer...went on the map, took the coordinates...next mission, entered the coordinates and it wasn't at the place where I crashed. Looking for a target that is 5 miles away from the coordinates is questionnning on the quality on the intel...especially as you did put clouds in the mission So hope you see also my frustration. When I read that one of the guys on the forum tried 12 times a mission...I couldn't do that as the mission would become so boring. maybe it I will try to see if the graphic settings can help. I will try M3 a last time with other settings. best, Cobra
PawlaczGMD Posted Saturday at 12:28 AM Posted Saturday at 12:28 AM I've found the vehicle groups on the first try. Make sure to enable precise coordinates and pad the grid sequence with 0s if they give you less than 5 digits for lat long. Then switch the zoom, wide/narrow, flir/ccd to help yourself see things. Although, if the other pilot is also in a Hornet, it makes me wonder why the coord format she gives doesn't always match the obvious one...

I had done that mistake on the first time i flew the mission. @baltic_dragon I found out some of my issue. I used the external MFD and the contrast isn't similar and cannot be change hence some of my issues of finding ground troups. But unfortunately in mission 3, I faced exactly what I mentioned before on the trigger. I did everything until the house, I forgot to press space before attacking the vehicles, bombed them, then came back, pressed the space bar, gunned the house....then no radio anymore... flew back to the base (parked where I should (i checked on youtube where people parked)...score 50. mission failed. This is ridiculous....worse case you could give the player not the full points to penalise them not having followed the full radio protocol... This is exactly the point I mentioned before, why making a mission success stuck with so thin triggers. It is just non sense or it just tell players that they are evoluting in the narrow tunnel and shouldn't do any different. But even worse...I flew it another time, got all the radio to the end..and no mission success. In conclusion, the trigger are really messed up and no interest to pursue this campaign. Really regret my purchase. Edited 17 hours ago by cobragva
