Dopey Posted Friday at 07:58 AM Posted Friday at 07:58 AM Hope somebody can bring some light in this matter. And in my reverb Since recent my reverb headset is acting up in DCS. After a while (15-20 minutes into the game) the headset blacks out. It does this always in the same pattern. First the left screen, then both screens and then turn back on. And that repeats itself. In a regular pattern, sometimes it blacks out quickly, sometimes it take little longer but generally within a minute. I thought it was caused by the latest nvidia driver so I installed an older version (572.83) but no change It looks like there is no problem in MSFS in VR Looking at the log file (not really sure what I am looking at though) I see a massive amount of warnings and errors including errors in the GRAPHICSCORE (17804) Is there something obvious going wrong here? dcs.log
speed-of-heat Posted Friday at 08:40 AM Posted Friday at 08:40 AM there was a behavior like this related to the G2's firmware, under certain audio conditions the screens would blank ? Dopey Posted Friday at 10:30 AM Author Posted Friday at 10:30 AM I did that update in the past but to be sure I downloaded it again. I reinstalled but no change. I noticed that when I go to "pause" or "ESC" I can look around all the time without the headset blacking out
speed-of-heat Posted Friday at 11:20 AM Posted Friday at 11:20 AM hmm you might want to check the cable seating .. but honestly .. not sure that will help SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
Darcaem Posted Friday at 11:37 AM Posted Friday at 11:37 AM (edited) As a G2 user myself, this happened to me some months ago. Once you have rule out the firmware update (that fix is quite old though, you should already have installed the latest firmware) you shuold start considering it a cable problem EDIT: in my case, I ended up buying a new cable and (fingers crossed) I've never had other problem since Edited Friday at 11:38 AM by Darcaem 1

But it is so odd that for MSFS it all works 1

Buzzer1977 Posted Friday at 07:21 PM Posted Friday at 07:21 PM Multiple things can cause this on the G2: - Firmware. There was a firmware bug that caused the screens to blank when the audio level was high. Fixed with newer firmware - Low frame rates. If your machine can't sustain high frame rates, the G2 might go dark for a few seconds. Reducing refreshrate to 60Hz helps. - Bad cable. One of the things that are known to break on the G2 are the cables. - Overheating. The G2 get's pretty warm. Sometimes too warm. 4 hours ago, Dopey said: Ok, waiting long enough in MSFS the same happens. Of to the store for a new cable Don't invest in the G2. It's dead Jim. Better go for a Quest3 or a Pimax. Rainer_B. Posted Friday at 09:40 PM Posted Friday at 09:40 PM My Problem was the USB-C on my AMD X-570 Mainboard. Got a PCIe USB-C Card and all was fine. But i'm also on my second Cable with one to spare.

Rainer_B. Posted yesterday at 07:20 AM Posted yesterday at 07:20 AM i know but my Motherboard does not comply. The PCIe Card was cheap enough.
