EagleA25 Posted Friday at 10:03 AM Posted Friday at 10:03 AM Dear @IronMike I hope I don't bother nor do I have intentions to annoy anyone, but for the last few weeks I was curious about if, with the advances that were made with the release of the Phantom II, Heatblur could re-kindle the use of the TARPs module on the F-14? You see, the Phantom has the AVTR, an item most F-4E pilots don't even realize is there (besides to use it for some inflight entertainment/music) is actually an amazing tool if used correctly, and I appreciate the HB team not ignoring its functionality. Used correctly, it records snapshots of the radar display every 3 seconds, but can also be used in a recon mode when used with an appropriate sensor. So my question: with this feature, could HB research and implement the use of the TARPs in the near future on the F-14's again? My group of hobby pilots like flying online on realistic (full fog of war!) public servers but in order to fashion out good pre-planed strike operations, good recon data is necessary and even a must. It would be amazing to have TARPs flights available for Intel and BDA assessments and use that data during the pre-flight of post-flight briefing... Just a though... Thanks
Zabuzard Posted Friday at 10:50 AM Posted Friday at 10:50 AM The AVTR is currently using more something like a demo implementation than what we actually envisioned for it. Unfortunately proper video recording is not that simple to get working. It is planned though to fully fledge this out, at which point the F4 will also receive its iconic gun-camera. The TARPS could follow after, will see. But currently not planned/promised. Cheers 3
scommander2 Posted Friday at 01:02 PM Posted Friday at 01:02 PM Just wondering what we are going to do for data that captured by TARPs in DCS? Thanks. But, is there a tool that able to analyze the captured data to feed the conditions of triggers for the next mission in ME so that the next mission becomes more dynamic? I guess that I ask too much of ahead with the day dreaming Edited Friday at 05:40 PM by scommander2 Spoiler Dell XPS 9730, i9-13900H, DDR5 64GB, Discrete GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, 1+2TB M.2 SSD | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + TPR | TKIR5/TrackClipPro | Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box | Win 11 Pro

You can do what you want with it. Perhaps a trigger in the mission can react to the right image taken but you can't expect module to generate a new mission for you.
