streakeagle Posted June 16 Posted June 16 The AIM-7F uses the same textures as the AIM-7M, so the lines and files added for AIM-7Fs do not appear to be doing anything. The lines for the AIM-7M can be used for a custom skin shared by both the AIM-7M and AIM-7F. As I am primarily interested in the early AIM-7F with white bodies, it is easy for me to chose: overwrite the AIM-7M files with my AIM-7F preference. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
NRG-Vampire Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) " it is easy for me to chose: overwrite the AIM-7M files with my AIM-7F preference. " Yeah you can do this, but you will see that white 7F texture on the 7M model too AIM-7F: The main problem is the AIM-7F.edm got material name as "AIM-7M" therefore it fights always with the AIM-7.edm (that's the 7M using the same name "AIM-7M") and does not matter how/when 7F tries to call a different 7F texture from description.lua(s) the material name is what primarily determined - it will use 7M texture. The problem is only 1 byte in the edm file: (7F - 7M). I can fix this problem (already did) but causes IC fail. F-15C uses 7E model of HB. Shouldn't this be white too? Much whiter ? AIM-7P and HB_AIM-7E2: are those realistic to put on an Eagle ? maybe 7E2 on early 15A, 7P for late/current 15C or 15E ? Possible IRL ? BTW: discovered another problem with skins: (log file) f15_helmet_RoughMet' not found. Asked from '' Need to correct in all the description.lua to "pilot_f15_helmet_RoughMet" or rename all the files in skin folders: pilot_f15_helmet_RoughMet.dds to f15_helmet_RoughMet.dds Edited June 17 by NRG-Vampire

SOLIDKREATE Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 (edited) Okay guys, I had to remove the weapons. I heard people were having issues. So the pack in it's entirety will be 50% smaller. So, about as big as a Heatblur F-14 Texture template. I need to run through all the LUAs because I had to delete the code for the weapons and add the code for the rest of the roughmets I forgot. I copy + pasted it in all 29 folders. I added two more 53rd TFS planes I found online which are AF84-0027 AND AF79-0078. I updated AF79-0067 to a historical photo I found taken in 1984. So, probabaly within the next few hours. I need to get some rest and watch a movie. Lt.Turbo Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I'd like to see this made for the F-15E to cosplay as the A or C in a full fidelity jet.
SOLIDKREATE Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 (edited) I don't own the E and probably never will because of the current and most likely situation. I wish I had it. " Yeah you can do this, but you will see that white 7F texture on the 7M model too I don't use the AIM-7M with the 1970s/1980s F-15C, so no problem for me. Just like the Heatblur F-14A 1970s skins that use the white body, which absolutely looks great and was the inspiration for me to figure out how to do the same with the F-15C. I have a lot of F-15 books and most of them were published prior to 1990. Almost none of them have photos with AIM-7s with the gray bodies. So, if you are trying to recreate a "cold war gone hot" NATO vs Warsaw Pact mission for the Germany terrain, AIM-7Fs in the old paint scheme are the way to go. Customizing the AIM-7 for old skins doesn't affect the AIM-7M of other skins. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
