it looks like windows killed the process since your log end abnormally. not a dcs problem perse. run a directx diagnostic and post the results. remove overclocking as a test step. also i doubt this will cause dcs to just close.

Thanks silverdevil,

tried to solve the problem by deleting fxo and metashader and will report after testing!

Next complete freeze yesterday (see attached files). Computer doesn´t reacts anymore. Not even task manager could be started. I had to make a cold start of the PC.

All freezes during the mission appeared after issuing a command to flight or ATC. In this case I get a fps-impact from constant 60 fps to 29 fps for 30 sec. - or a constant freeze!

All happend with actual patch and Iraq-map.

Any idea?

hello. eliminate anything in the SAVED GAMES\DCS folder by renaming DCS to DCS.BAK. run the sim again. then close it. copy your inputs from BAK to the newly created DCS folder. run sim again and test. viel Glück!

Just made a (nearly) 2-hours-mission without freezes. Because we have temperatures of 33^C in Germany I tested the GPU-temp. and noticed that I got peaks of 70°C on gpu and memory. Than switched the cooler fans to max and got good results. Probably this is the reason.

But commands furthermore stresses the sim: I always noticed that the Fraps-fps-marker goes to red after any command I give!!!

makes sense.

so no crashes or freezes now after your changes? what did you change other than cooling?

Now it´s absolutely clear:

Every time I gave a command (i.e. engage bandits)  to flight or ATC I got an fps-impact from 60fps (constant) to 29 fps for 30 seconds.

I repeated this 15 times with a timedistance of about one minute - every time the same framerate-impact. Think it´s a bug.

p.s.: I use the keystrokes "menu/F1/F3/F1" for the command "engage bandits".

interesting. are you able to share the MIZ you are using? also give an example workflow so the steps can be reproduced by testers.

See attached file. Mission for Iraq-map and F-16 module. No other problems with this mission except the command-problems. The effect is reproducible in every phase of the mission. You can notice the fps-impact even on the start ramp if you only open a conversation with tower or wingmen 😉.

HI, GPUs running at 70°C are absolutely normal  , have you experienced any further issues with freezing?

Hi felipesm,

surely the problem are the commands via command menue (in Iraq-map). That´s clear now!

The problem is I´m flying always in offline self made missions, never in multiplayer campains. So occasionally commands to KI are necessary - and that´s the problem.

Tried now to solve the problem via direct commands, i.e.: F5-keystroke for "Engage Bandits". But the first in a started mission command via direct keytroke doesn´t work, but all further direct commands work. So i can solve the bug partially. But for tower commands there are no direct commands available - only commands via command menu 😪

Anyone with the same issue?

According to the log from June 14, you have parked cores and are running Windows 10. The specs of your CPU indicate 6 P-Cores and 8 E-cores. I would guess that your freezes relate to work being passed to E-cores by the Windows 10 core scheduler, which is known to do this with hybrid CPUs. There are several ways to "unpark" your cores, but I used a free utility called ParkControl to turn off core parking for the power plan in use. If an upgrade to Windows 11 is possible, this will also help with general issues with core scheduling. Good luck.
