PLAAF Posted Thursday at 01:50 PM Posted Thursday at 01:50 PM May I assume it will have the same RWR as F-4E or worse, since it is a much older jet? 1 My Adorable Communist Errand Girls Led by me, the Communist Errand Panda
TLTeo Posted Thursday at 02:17 PM Posted Thursday at 02:17 PM I'm a bit fuzzy on the details because iirc it depends on exact model/era/operator, but my understanding is it'll be either something barebones (think what we have in the A-4 with just an aural warning) or none at all. Afaik the only jets to receive directional RWR similar to the F-4 were the Canadian CF-104s (which were then passed down to a bunch of other operators), as well as the F-104Cs that flew in the later Vietnam deployments. 1
algherghezghez Posted Thursday at 02:54 PM Posted Thursday at 02:54 PM If I’m not mistaken we should get an aural tone with a locked light, or nothing at all like TLTeo said 1
VFXBLENDER Posted Thursday at 03:25 PM Posted Thursday at 03:25 PM I think it will be just a older version of the RWR. The F-104 was made 2 years before the Phantom. 1
TLTeo Posted Thursday at 03:57 PM Posted Thursday at 03:57 PM (edited) The Phantom didn't have a RWR for a while either, we have a relatively late variant. Again, there are only a couple variants of the 104 with a comparable RWR to the Phantom, and you can easily tell them apart from the antennas in the nose and near the engine nozzle: Edited Saturday at 08:13 AM by TLTeo 2
