Hyreef Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Hi ! I just finished Iron Flag part I today, and first of all, I must say thank you for this awesome campaign ! I learned a lot of things that I didn't know yet on the A10CII, and it was very fun Also, I really appreciate the efforts put into voice overs and the missions scripting. The only suggestion I may do for your next campaigns would be to try reducing the missions duration a bit (less than 2h in average would be cool I think, maybe some could be split in several parts). Also, please try to always indicate a fair estimation of the mission duration in the briefing (without rushing it). This duration was sometimes given in part I, but not always, and I often found myself spending way more time in the mission than indicated. Here are also a few bugs I encountered during the campaign : Mission 6 : at the beginning of the mission, we must wait for Boar flight to pass before us when exiting Thunder. Well, in my case, Boar flight never spawned. I tried full scenario and scenario A, and in both cases, Boar never existed. The consequence is a lot of confusion on what to do, and voiceovers for takeoff that are broken. However, if you takeoff without caring about clearance, the rest of the mission seems to work correctly. Mission 7 or 8 (I don't remember exactly) : there are some dialogs at the beginning of the mission before taxi that play over each other (I think it was between BIFF lines and the Clearance lines). Mission 9 : I heard no dialog from the ground guy for LSS exercise, despite using the indicated frequency on Victor radio. All missions : We rarely see BIFF identified on the TAD/Helmet (and I made sure that I had the right group ID and own ID configured as indicated on the kneeboard each time, before taxi). This was especially a problem for mission 10 to me, where it was really important to identify BIFF clearly. Despite the bugs, I still had a great time and I can't wait for part 2 ! 1
baltic_dragon Posted June 26 Posted June 26 @Hyreef thanks! Yeah, mission duration is a problem, but we wanted to have a full cycle for each one - wouldn't it be beautiful to have a save game feature added? We're going mission by mission polishing them right now (this one is for you, @Yurgon)! It will still take some time but once we release the fixes it will be in a better state (though I think it is pretty good as is). For Victor, I am pretty sure you had it tuned to FM instead of AM. Very common mistake. Unfortunately new radio was added after we released the campaign, so it causes some trouble. As for TAD - this one is on DCS, nothing I can do about it. It works if you are a wingman, and here it wouldn't work... 1 For more information, please visit my website. Well, in my case, Boar flight never spawned During the current cycle of updating all subtitles, I saw this sometimes, but not reliably 100 % of the time. AFAICT Boar is there right from the get-go, but sometimes the flight doesn't power up or doesn't taxi when they should, or it can take a long time (several minutes). I'm not sure we were able to address this issue, but will take another look. Yeah, this issue was introduced with old/existing missions when all the datalink stuff was updated in DCS. I (am probably not the only one who) spent hours and hours trying to find a workaround, but the only thing that works reliably is to delete a unit and add a new one. The nightmare of re-building all associated triggers (that DCS will automatically delete together with the unit...) would probably take ages and cause a whole slew of new issues unfortunately. This issue is reported and is something that ED needs to address. 1

Fingers crossed that it works in internal testing! If so, it should be a relatively easy fix for all missions (*) and should be implemented with a future update. (*) Finding the workaround was the hard part. Implementing it should be fairly straightforward. However, at this stage I don't want to promise anything, I just think it should be okay. 1

Very unlikely. I only use AM presets on my Victor radio, and I always make sure it is setup correctly before taxi. And as far as I remember, when I saw that I was not having any feedback from the LSS guy, I doubled check that my preset was correct.
