What is up with Sys RQ being the screenie button instead of print-scrn? Did I miss something in readme file, what is going but no screens I can take?

Keyboards - Print screen and SysRq are the same button on my keyboard ...

Go to the options and you can assign the key that you want...

Thx Weta! The keycard states "Sys RQ" so I was wondering why when I pressed the key no shot at all.

ED; Some keyboards have "PrtScr" + "ScrLk" + "Pause" labels only (and not the double labels like for other keyboards).

If you have Vista, and UAC is enabled, you won't be getting any screenshots to your DCS folder.

Solution: modify the permissions of the "user" group to "full" or in any case also include "write". What Vista users are basically running into is the same problem why any program with no administrator privileges cannot write to Program Files etc.

You are correct and actually I need to run BS as an admin else Vista won't allow BS to write screenshots to the folder. Odd but I would rather keep my user accounts active for security.

Change the permission of the screenshots folder (or the entire BS folder) and you will be able to run BS with the normal user privilege.

Or disable UAC altogether, problem solved.

Also, if a program tries to change files within its own directory and UAC is enabled Vista will route the file to a folder of the same name somewhere in the User directory, I forget where. I can't remember if this was something a program had to support along with vista, either. It's been over 24 hours since I've slept...

Otherwise just disable UAC and all your problems will disappear... until a bot takes over your computer...

Yeah, I was going to add that thing with the "bot". Basically, if your system gets compromised and you have UAC off, your one last line of defence against unauthorized changes to your system has been removed.

It's annoying, but an added line of defence is never wrong imo.

Ethereal said so first - but let me add ..

Set proper permission solves on folders / files / rgeistry may solve problems.

Turning off UAC as as bad as using blank password on your accounts - not a big problem until someone knock on your door (to Windows ..). :)

Getting a habit of turning off UAC for everything is a *very* bad security practise.
