edup71 Posted Saturday at 05:52 PM Posted Saturday at 05:52 PM Hi, i didn´t bother for some time but now this is driving me nuts! Hopefully there is a silly thing that i can´t spot. I got the Orion2 throttle. I binded the off-idle on the back detent of the throttle, it works as a 4 buttons. everything is well binded in the game, and i can see everthing working in the simapp and the green lights when i move the thottle on and off, but the handles wont go back to the off possition. I start the mission fine, the handles are in off position, i move them to idle, start the engines, but they are not going back to the off possition to shut down the engines. Any Ideas??

You might ask in the WW subforum. Are those virtual buttons or physical buttons? In my Warthog, the cutoff position is a physical switch, I have bound to cutoff. So whenever I put the levers in the physical cutoff position, the switch is pressed. Then for the idle position, I have bound the same button, just selected it as xx_off. So when I push the levers forward, the button goes off and the sim registers it as in the off position, and engages idle. Can you post a screenshot of your bindings? Cheers!

It was working fine some time ago, i guess i messed up with something that i shouldn´t, but it works fine in BMS same off/idle thing, and i just tried with the SU-27 and it works too

You cannot compare BMS and the DCS Su-27 to the FF F-5E.

Canopy – Open |LCtrl + С|. CAUTION. The canopy seals remain inflated if engines are shut down with canopy locked. Attempts to open canopy with seals inflated may result in damage to canopy drive mechanism. Cockpit Pressurization Switch - NORMAL/CABIN PRESS. All Unguarded Switches (except battery, generators, and fuel boost pumps) – OFF. Throttles - OFF. Standby Attitude Indicator - Caged and Locked. Battery Switch – OFF. Left |RAIt + End|; right |RShift + End|.

Left |RAIt + End|; right |RShift + End|. This is not the issue. When OP pulls the throttle levers on his physical throttle back from IDLE to CUTOFF, they will not do that. I'm positive the keyboard keybinds work. It's a binding issue and I'm sure if we could see how he has bound the throttles, we would notice the issue.

Yes, no worries, even if there are way sexier tools to snag better screenshots already included with Windows. Cellphone is so the 90s. Just kidding. Before we could just press PrtScrn and Ctrl+V directly into the post. For some reason they removed that feature possibility when capturing the keybinds. Look for Snip and Sketch in Windows, and there are even better free alternatives out there. ANYWAY! When in the keybind settings. If you pull and push the throttles, just the corresponding cells light up? Just for testing the bindings. If they DO NOT. There's your issue, and we need to follow up on that. If they DO there's something in the sim. Cheers!

Bring the throttles back and forth from cutoff to idle an back. Exit the mission and click save track, and post the file here. In the controls settings, go to the OFF cell, and bind the virtual buttons you have defined JOY_BTN33 and JOY_BTN33, BUT, in the drop down, select JOY_BTN31_OFF and JOY_BTN31_OFF. (they will show as grey IIRC) Understand? When you have bound those, hop in the cold and dark and check. Crossing my fingers now!

The keybinds don't work? Well, then there's an issue obviously. I forget. Have you tried a repair? If not, perform a full repair. If that doesn't fix it, rename your DCS folder under your Saved Games. If that fixes it, you have some issues in Saved Games, might be a conflicting mod or a corruption in the settings. Cheers!

edup71 Posted Monday at 04:41 PM Author Posted Monday at 04:41 PM The throttle works fine with othe modules and with BMS, and in the winwing simapp ligth up all the buttons as it should. I binded the keyboard for control. When the mission starts, the keybindings on the keyboard are working, and if i put the handles on idle with the throttle is working as well. But as soon as i use the throttle, the keybindings doesn´t work anymore neither to put the handles back on cut off. I guess there is something messing with the buttons JOY_BTN1 and JOY_BTN2. Anyway , i´m not by any means and IT guy, actually i´m the opposite lol, I unistalled de game and i am right now installing it from the scratch...hopefully the problem its solved!!

Did you try a repair and to rename your Saved Games folder like I suggested? A reinstallation is a waste of time, a full slow repair and renaming the DCS folder under your Saved Games will set you back to vanilla. A repair/re-installation doesn't touch the Saved Games folders. So if you have a problem there it won't be fixed. You haven't configured the keypress keybind in any other software by chance. It seems you might have some conflict since the keystrokes stops working. To check the calibration is a good idea. DCS in particular has sometimes and issue with it. Doesn't matter if it works in other games. I have to add small deadzones in many modules to make sure it hits the endpoints. Spoiler Well, since you didn't follow my advice and called me a boomer, I'm gonna give you an English lesson today. "Binded" is not an English word. To bind is an irregular verb, and the past tense is bound. To bind, binding, bound, have bound, did bind, will bind. Cheers!

One less virtual button to configure. But I'm not sure it will work, as he said he tried the xx_btn_off in the settings. I believe there's a mod/program conflict or settings corruption.
