Hi,

I love the new patch!

However, :helpsmilie:is required...

The new trimmer is truly a great solution to all the problems we heard about from people without FF joysticks. I belong to that group and I really enjoy the new approach.

Nonetheless, just after applying the patch, while trying it all out a strange thing happened. I was crusing 240 km/h trimmed and leveled and suddenly there was NO response from my stick... :smilewink: The pedals remained working so did the throttle and since I use X52 that could have not been a cable disconnect (joy & throttle are connected and if one stops working the other won't work either). I experienced that three times. Always after keeping the trimmer pressed for a while and manouvering then after releasing it when in stable flight. The next manouver I wanted to perform I had no authority in the stick...

Any ideas? Anybody had a similar experience?

Regards -

i had one instance of that problem whilst applying about half left stick. Moving the stick fully right and back fixed the problem, but at low level it would've been fatal. At least it doesn't happen often!

I am not Alone..............

I have the very same issue with the Cougar - Collective is fine but Zero input on Cyclic, with the resultant Fireball......about to uninstall and reinstall to see if that cures the issue. I experience a complete Rudder Freeze too (CH Pro Pedals).

Manifests with new Trimmer Logic only.

Also at odd, irregular intervals. Latest was at take-off from a FARP:Cold-start as I was about to Toss Midgets..........

Edit: Yeah - Stick was re-centered: Zero effect ;)

In an attempt to eliminate User-Error from the equation, could the following please be explained/confirmed:

With the 'Old' Trim system, there was two ways to attend to the trim.....

1 - Depress the Trim button on the Flightstick, release and quickly re-center the Controls.

2 - Depress the Trim button on the Flightstick, keeping it depressed whilst changin' attitude/altitude. Rest unsure as I have never utilized this method.

If above is correct, and I personally utilized #1 pre-patch, would the new Trimmer Logic mean that Method #1 will still be applicable as one of the 'Correct' ways to trim, or does my Methodology need to change, thus also explaining the issues I am experiencing.

If I am indeed to Blame for my misfortunes, what would, in Layman's terms, be the correct way to attend to Trim with the new Trimmer Logic?

I think you would be looking mostly at #1 here.

Yup, I suffered same problem early yesterday or today, i cant recall, suddenly i had no authority of the cyclic, then i read the read me file again and noticed,

"control input is disabled until the player returns the controls to their neutral position"

Still not sure how I like the new trimming method, although I find it easier to come to a standstill and hover manually without using the hover AP, but for some reason I have gotten too used to the old style trimmer method and I am gunna find it uber hard to get out of that routine, so I guess it will be a big fight over the next few weeks on what style wins.

Right, you might want to reword that ... you know what I'm talking about.

In any case, this trimming method is optional. You may use the old one.

I've been utilizing Method #1 since Day 1, so it is not something that is foreign to me at all......Just when it happens I lose all input for the remainder of the flight until the inevitable crash - Controls are 'Hard-Locked', no matter what I do.

Posting a track will not even help as it will not illustrate my manipulation of the controls whilst not registering In-Cockpit. Here's hopin' a reinstall will sort the issue.

Its just a theory, but maybe its worth increasing the deadzone for the trimmer. Maybe what is happening is that that BS does not realize that the stick has returned to neutral, and so never returns the control to the pilot. From the readme, it looks like you set the trimmer deadzone using the HelicopterTrimmerZonePitch and HelicopterTrimmerZoneRoll in FMOoptions.lua. Maybe try increasing the values greater than the current 0.05 and see if that helps.
