spacefox Posted Friday at 02:02 AM Posted Friday at 02:02 AM Hey everyone, I have had some time to do DCS these days. I was looking at the C-101 and MB-339 jets, and I hear these are good modules. But how do you guys use them? I do not see any professional campaigns and there aren't that many user driven campaigns in the user file sections (unless I am not searching properly). What do you guys do with it in the sim? just do the training tutorials which come with it? How goes the updates on these modules? I do not see that much activity in their subforums on this site. I am deciding on buying these 2 crafts or not. Thank you Specs: i7-5820K - 4.3 Ghz HT OC, 64GB Ram, RTX 2070 Super, Quest Pro
Daemoc Posted Friday at 02:42 AM Posted Friday at 02:42 AM I have both and use the C-101 a lot. It is one of my favorite modules. I spent a lot of time learning the mission editor and make my own content though. When making your own missions, the possibilities are endless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2ez7Bltb9M But yeah, if you are looking for official/unofficial missions, there is not a lot of content out there. 1 Ryzen7 5800X3D - MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk MAX - 64Gb 3600MHz DDR4 - RX 6950 XT - SoundBlaster -Z

Thank you but I just do not have the time allocation to make my own missions. I want to learn the craft and load up on missions and just do them. I would be quite bored if I had to make a mission, as I would know what to expect. I like the element of the story and surprise. For example, I loved the only campaign I finished for F-15C Georgian War...omg what an experience. That is what I am looking for. Specs: i7-5820K - 4.3 Ghz HT OC, 64GB Ram, RTX 2070 Super, Quest Pro

I wish there were more campaigns. I did buy the C101 right now during the sale. Specs: i7-5820K - 4.3 Ghz HT OC, 64GB Ram, RTX 2070 Super, Quest Pro
Exorcet Posted Saturday at 01:10 PM Posted Saturday at 01:10 PM My answer is the same for pretty much all modules, the mission editor. The ME isn't that difficult to use in my opinion but it does take some time to learn. ME missions also don't have to be predictable even if you're the one who made them. There are many ways to add elements of surprise or random events into missions. There are also a few automated mission creation tools outside of DCS if you really don't want to use the ME. Briefing Room being one example. I have never used these tools though so I'm not familiar with them. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Lace Posted Saturday at 01:56 PM Posted Saturday at 01:56 PM Yes, the ME is not difficult to use and is well worth investing the time. And by using a few random flags it is fairly simple to incorporate an element of uncertainty to your own missions allowing surprises and re-playability. The vast majority of my flying is on missions I have made myself and it will probably remain that way, at least until the DCE is available. Laptop Pilot. Alienware X17, i9 11980HK 5.0GHz, 16GB RTX 3080, 64GB DDR4 3200MHz, 2x2TB NVMe SSD. 2x TM Warthog, Hornet grip, Virpil CM2 & TPR pedals, Virpil collective, Cougar throttle, Viper ICP & MFDs, pit WIP (XBox360 when traveling). Quest 3S. Wishlist: Tornado, Jaguar, Buccaneer, F-117 and F-111.
