Hi folks,  Noob here just bought the F4U.  No stranger to flight sims or mods but I can not for the life of me get Hawkeye60's  WW2 Naval and WW2 Japanese Naval mods to load into my game.  I downloaded OvGME, I "think" I'm putting them in the right directory file.  But nothing is working.  I know that in IL-2 there is a "master switch" of sorts to allows the game to use mods or not.  Is that here in DCS too?  Is there a video or a training guide you can throw a link to a new guy?  I'm stuck.  Thanks folks.

Not familiar with those mods from Hawkeye, but with regards to OvGME - make sure that the file(s) you are trying to use have the correct file structure in the zip. Sometimes the initial sub folder may be duplicated twice.

Also ensure that, in your case OvGME, is pointing to the correct location in DCS (detailed in the readme).

(I may not be using the correct terminology, but in my case, sometimes when you actually unzip the file, the first folder is named the same as the next underneath - which ‘can’ confuse things like OvGME, or the one that I use - JSGME).

Hope your issue gets resolved soon.

Screenshots speaks volumes!

Are you putting them under \Saved Games\DCS\mods\"relevant folder" or \Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\mods\"relevant folder\?

The first path is the correct one. If you are new to mod managers in DCS. Adding ONE mod manually to see if it works, as the first step could potentially show you where it fails. (I love OvGME, but it's not developed anymore, and I've switched to it's successor Open Mod Manager. People will tell you they don't like the new one, while both's creator is actively engaging with the users in OMM's forum thread).

Do you get any error messages? Like not activated, or are you just not seeing them in the Mission Editor. The activation errors means they're in the wrong path. If you just don't see them. Try clicking the clock icon on the bottom of the ME screen.

No, no such thing in DCS.

Pinging @Rudel_chw, who has written an excellent tutorial here somewhere on the use of OvGME. 😊 Probably in the mod apps section.

Cheers!

Thanks for the ping, but I wrote that guide almost 8 years ago and so its pics will be different from those of the last OvGME version, here is the link if anyone wants to look at it but probably on YouTube you can find newer Guides:
