Crystal Super - mounting the optional Comfort Top Strap - WTF?

Ok,

got the Crystal Super yesterday. The comfort top strap and DMAS speakers loose in the box - like they are supposed to be. So, I easily mounted DMAS speakers.

But now - the Top strap is very difficult. My finges are a bit stiff, I am 56 years and have some finger joint problems - and the screws and the holes are the smallest ones I've ever seen. Took me over 30 minutes. Someone with smaller fingers and no finger joint problems (and good eyesight) might do this more easily. But for me... aaaargh!!!

Also mounting as suggested on the official help page for this: https://pimax.com/de/blogs/blogs/how-to-install-dmas-and-the-comfort-top-strap-for-the-crystal-super

makes the top strap actually touch the front of the headset. The angle seems way off. There are several holes on the top strap, but it doesn't open for much adjustments as far as I can see..

The top strap is very much needed. The headset is front heavy.

So, I might be the stupidest person - and the most clumsy non-technical person out there.. or ... how did you other guys manage this? And yes - I have checked for correct L and R sides.

did you install the strap the wrong way around?

Is that even possible? 🙂  I found the left and right markings to make sure I didn't. But clearly I must have something strange because I can not imagine it is supposed to be like this. I had no problems fitting a Top strap on a Crystal Light some time back, but this one is a bit different it seems.

Would you send a pic so we can gain context, pls?  I'm awaiting my Super 57PPD and would be interested in seeing your teething pains after hearing this.  TIA!

The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.

I used over an hour trying to fasten the strap.. hehe. I had to remove it eventually. Like I wrote in my first post - my fingers some days are bit stiff - and... not going through that again today.... been flying instead 🙂 Maybe I will try again tomorrow and I can take some pictures then.

Don't let this dishearten you... I am a bit clumsy.... - the headset otherwise is excellent!! At 50 PPD it is incredibly sharp! And bright. Now, I have a somewhat larger FOV than you will get, but even the 57PPD will have good FOV compared to most headsets out there. I can't even imagine how sharp it will be at 57 PPD! I will post in another thread about my first impressions.

Ran into this exact same issue. The top strap, and the entire PCS strap in general, isn't that well designed. I "solved" this issue by ordering an Apache top strap from Studioform. Works much better, and relieves a lot of the front pressure.
