Requesting a new forum category just dedicated to module manuals. I know there's the folder route Eagle Dynamics > DCS > Mods > Aircraft > Docs for current manuals. But if we can the updated manuals on here in their own section I think that would be beneficial. Or keep the documentation section current

Perfect example: Last night I was flying the AH-64 for the first time since the new update and had no clue what the new George controls were. Used my phone to look for the updated info on Google, youtube and couldn't find anything. If the updated manual was on here I could have just opened that on my phone while still flying. Instead of switching my computer screen back and forth between DCS and the manual.Ā

Right. I don’t know why there needs to be another spot. Although sometimes I notice these aren’t kept up to date. They should be.Ā

From the forums, tap on the image or logo at the top and it will take you to the DCS website. Then pull down the Doc section for the manuals. šŸ˜‰

Yeah but it can be a scavenger hunt for those that don't live on the website. I'm thinking from the casual user that needs it without going through different portals. The image I attached is what I ended up finding last night but the manual wasn't current.Ā

But like you said, most of those are not up to date compared to the folder path to get to the docs.

I'm just a huge believer in the KISS method, keep it simple stupid.Ā

More paths for accessibility are almost always nice..... BUT, here is something better:

When I was getting back into the Hornet in 2021, to dust off major amounts of rust, I had put the whole manual from it (in 'docs' folder) in my cellphone on a easily accessible folder.
Just that. Simple and much better than relying on internet connectivity.

I did the same for the Warthog and it was a breeze to get a "bump" ironed out.

I'm currently learning the Apache as well and you reminded me of what I did with the Hornet with this thread.

Cool ideas. Manuals should be everywhere indeed. Try out putting in a hand held device the .pdf manual you most rely on... or every single one and I'd bet you won't regret it.

It could hardly be easier šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Sure. Again really common sense stuff here.

If anyone can’t figure out how to navigate a website or that they can use documents on their phone then what chance do they have of understanding the rest of the sim? šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Well that’s the trouble, not the location. You’re asking for something that already exists, just it’s not being kept current like it should be.

I should of been more direct in my previous comment:

Just toss the manual file inside 'docs' folder into your phone or any other handheld device >before flight< instead of relying on google (highly degraded search engine), AI (bloat of regurgitated nonsense) or a website.

Lack of manual in hand midflight are a user side problem. The files are always up to date in 'dcs' root folder.
