I just started getting the error/crash in XP SP3 today. I had been flying fine until today. Nothing new added to comp. This was not while loading a created mission but the stock training missions.(that were working two days ago) What do I need to view the crash files? My error log is as follows:

2009/8/21 16:30 V810271318

World::LoadPlugins: Loaded plugin module CockpitBase.dll

My crash files are attached.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Having the same problem. When I thought everything was fine I get these crashes all the time. I got it the first time after installing windows 7 ultimate the real version not the beta but I thought it was a one time problem at first but I almost never get through a hole mission without these crashes where windows tells me that DCS have encountered a problem. I tried normal single missions and the campaign without any luck. Attaching my crash files and see if anyone knows whats wrong. I have allready tried a fresh install so thats not the problem.

I do not own a sidewinder mouse btw, I have a logitech laser mouse.

The crashes seem to be consistently in the same places - with references to a specific module all 3 times.

If I would have a guess I would have dared to ask "have you had any viruses on your computer lately" - because of the explanation your giving and the modules crashing on your computer.

EDIT:

It may be interesting to see a DXdiag report too, so it's easier to relate to what system components you have . :)

Not crashing in the same places, altough I can see that you run a x64 version of Windows 7.

Have never used DXdiag but I know how to start it up. Should I start it before I run the game and let it run in the background?

Not a backround application. Hit Start/Accessories/Run and type in [dxdiag] in dialogue box.

Will get this:

Try to run BS on usual CPU settings. Overclocking may cause problems.

According to your Pic your CPU is still at default 3GHz.

Yes but in CPU-Z its 3.6 Ghz and in bios. I think that DXdiag just show what the stock cpu is.

Look at my Dxdiag Pic - reflects the correct value at 3.8GHz, even though stock is 3.33GHz :)

Only reason why I am bringing it up is that it migh be indicative of a further problem/setting that is somehow leading to your crashes. Then again, might be harmless.

I fixed my problem. I have not narrowed it down exactly but I uninstalled my Modman mods to stock. Installed 1.0.1a and it works. Since the patch its seems I lost some FPS. If I install my mods again I get the windows dcs.exe error. I have not played around with it yet to see if it is one mod in particular or all of them. No viruses either.

Well that might be true but I gain about 10 fps when its overclocked thats why I know that it made some difference on the cpu. I did complete the first mission in the campaign without any crash, what I did was turn off the overclock of the gfx card that I made but then it could also just be luck this time. I will test further and see if I get any more crashes and if I do I will go back to default settings.

my errors for DCS...

Hi again, Aviator. :)

1. You've most likely found the reason for your problems, the virus. So the next logical thing would be to wait until you have reinstalled your Windows.

2. Those "troubleshooting tips" were meant so that you could study your computer and revert some of your changes yourself - and to see if there are other things you should have mentioned for us. Images from the tools wont help us much. :)

But Im glad to see that you are trying to help yourself and reading all the material here :)

3. The images you posted are thumbnails only - no clickable larger version.
