Whats the concensus on this map after the recent August big update?

What are current owners feeling about this map now after the recent update? 

Doesn't seem to have been much discussion around it over the last little while.

How does it perform relative to say Syria?

I haven't played Syria in years, so I don't know how it goes. Overall I'm getting good framerates to there's nothing to complain about. I mean there's been some glitches on the terrain itself, but somebody else has seen to that. So right now I like it still.

The map itself is fine. I have some personal opinions about the map, I'd like to see the map modeled around the 2011-2014 time frame but that's just because I was there during that time so that's I remember Afghanistan. All in all, though, ED did a decent job with it.

I haven't had a lot of time for DCS lately, but the short test I did yesterday was pretty positive: far fewer frame spikes compared to what I remember, and far fewer ugly transitions between 2 very different types of terrain texture.
